What Made You Purchase Your First Vette?
So in addition to the meet and greet...what actually brought you guys to purchase your first vette, what made you fall in love with them?
It would be cool to hear your stories.

I wanted something insane. I looked at all of the options and at the time (and still), I didn't see anything that met all of my wants at a lower price. I've never been a "Corvette person", I'm a car person. They just made the best product for my wants and it was a good price.

I have had a passion for Corvettes since I was a small child. I even used to have the poster with all the generations on it. I have always said that I will have a Corvette in my garage one day. Lets go back to April of 2014. My wife ran over a nail and so I looked for the closest Discount tire, as we always use them. We ended up there on Good Friday last year and right beside the tire store was a car lot. I noticed 3 or 4 Corvettes there so I said "lets go over there and kill some time". Well I laid eyes on my 2009 Red C6 LT1. Fast forward 3 hours and we have traded in the Tahoe (was still on the rack with the tire off when the salesman looked at it) and both wife and I drove off the lot in 2 cars. Me in my 2009 Corvette and her in a 2013 Dodge Avenger R/T. I drove the base for a year this week when I found my 2011 GS. Traded my first base for the GS and have had it 4 days now.

Had a 2001 Trans Am, great car and never a problem nearing 100Kmi... It was my car and my wife never drove it and I was getting itchy for another toy car that she would drive..She wanted something she could drive but I am 6'4" and the Porsche/MB's were just too small for me so she suggested we look at a corvette.. I bought one and surprised her with it...
So, It was really her idea...I just took one for the team

My dad was in the market for a new Impala, and he brought home the Chevrolet "All Car" line brochure. That was the first time I'd seen the C2 (it was for the 1964 model year), and I was hooked.
Dad is a car guy, too, so if he saw a Corvette on a lot, we'd stop and look at it. By the time I got to high school, I was saving my money for one. I bought a '65 coupe between my Junior and Senior year of high school, and spent the school year going through it. I drove it to Graduation, and kept it ten years.
Then in 2006, my wife and I were through some of the more expensive child rearing years, and I picked up a black 95 coupe. We loved it, and put over 30k miles on it. We sold it last year.
Our current Corvette is the 11 GS coupe that we flew to Dallas, TX to pick up. It's a CRM 3LT A6, and we love it, too. We've driven it in 12 states so far, and hope to add a few more this year!

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I had a Stock Car, then a string of Street Rods and in the early 80's I came across a 64 roadster and bought it.

Right out of high school, all my friends had either muscle cars or older Corvettes. I couldn’t afford a new GTO.
I saw a 3 year old Corvette parked at a Chevy dealer with no plates. It had been traded in just a few hours earlier so I bought it as-is on the spot for $2,000. It was faster than most of the muscle cars.

I fell in love with them, watching the old tv show, "Route 66". When I got out of boot camp, my uncle had a nice 63 roadster that I talked him into selling me. I've have been no less hooked, ever since.

I bought my first Corvette, coincidentally a 1968 vert, when I was 25. It was a total babe magnet. Besides that it was just a fast, fun, good looking car.
Now I'm on my fifth Vette, a 2010 coupe. It's still fast, fun and good looking. But the babes got a lot older.

I grew up with a neighbor who owned a couple of Porsche 911's and a Fire Truck Red C4 Corvette ZR1. We would beg him mercilessly to take us out and one day he did. All I remember is the feeling I got while being forced down into my seat.
The 911's are nice, but the that ZR1 was insane.
That's when it started.
I decided to buy one after my dad had a stroke and I realized there was no point to "delayed gratification."

Always wanted one. Had some money saved up for a new car. Test drove a C6 for the first time - and the decision was made. 3 months later, I found the right color/model/options for me.
Loved test driving. Ownership has been even better. It's my almost-daily driver now.

Ever since I was a little boy I love Corvettes. I remember this dude at this place I worked at when I was in college had a yellow 94 C4 and I wanted one so badly. Then the Millennium Yellow C5 came along and I had to have one my favorite vettes of all time. I bought a 01 about 8 years ago then I traded it for a C6, I really wanted a millennium yellow C6, but I couldn't find one at the time. Someday I'll get another one I hope.

In 1967 I bought a red convertible because I loved the shape and thought it would be a great chick magnet, I was right. Since then I have owned about 25 Corvettes. Looks like a C-7 Z-06 will be the next one.

I bought my first RWD V8 pony-car out of college at 22. It was a new 5.0 Mustang. Learned to modify cars and tune EFI (it was primitive back then) with that thing. Raced it a lot! After a few years, I was in a position to expand my stable, so I bought other cars...mostly Mustangs.
But then the C5Z came out and I wanted to give a 2-seat American sportscar a try. As a kid, the C3 Stingrays were my favorite car, so I'd always had a passion for Vettes... but really, I'm a function over form guy at heart. The C5Z satisfied that... amazing car, at a price I could afford.
13yrs later, I still have the C5Z and also have a C6 to sit beside it.

After graduating college, I was looking for my secondary vehicle. I wanted something with performance, without breaking the bank. I was never a big vette fan in the past, and I was open to lots of options. After browsing dealerships online, I decided to test drive a C6. Instantly I fell in love. My fiance at the time (wife now) wanted me to buy her a sedan first as my DD was a two door Ranger. I did as ordered but told her that she owed me a vette after we got married. So, we wed in Sep 14, bought a house in Oct 14, and I got my C6 in Nov 14.
Nothing like an American classic. She wasn't a big fan of it at first, said it was too impractical with only two seats and a big engine with too much power that took expensive gasoline. But after riding in it, hearing all the compliments we get from it, but most of all seeing how much I loved it, I think she's warmed up to it.

Loved them since I was a kid. In my teenager years, I had a Datsun 280Z. Always wanted a "vette".

no good story - just a car guy through and through, and I really appreciate a good performance car that is good value per dollar. I don't see a better value out there than the vette, and it's super capable. I like american and japanese cars, and I don't trust german cars nor appreciate their bloated maintenance/running costs. I am not loyal to any particular brand, however, this is my 3rd chevy (68 camaro, 2011 camaro, now the vette). If Nissan or Subaru got their heads out of their asses and made something that was even remotely close to the vette's level I'd probably be in that instead.
