Melting Slicks
Lots of posts on this subject. My advice: Get anything but Goodyear's. And before you say they must be extended mobility, go for a ride (or drive) a Corvette that does not have them. The all around improvement is impossible to explain. You must experience it.
Several years ago while I was out of town I had a damaged run flat on my first C6. It did get me to the tire store, but it was not repairable. They could not locate a replacement tire in the area. The tire store manager persuaded me to try a set of Michelin PS2 non-runflat tires on the front. After the first few miles there was no question, they were far superior in ride quality, handling, and even less noise.
When I picked up my new Z06 a few years ago, I drove it home and had the tires changed out the next day.
I carry a small Craftsman 12V compressor, a DynaPlug tire plug kit, and a small pair of vice grips in the rear compartment.

I've been really happy with my Firestone Firehawk RFT's. Seem to be much quieter than the Good Years.
