Thinking about Selling - Need Advice
I'm thinking about selling my 2013 GS this summer - wanted to get some thoughts on how much you guys think I would be able to get for it. I would probably end up selling to a dealer to make all the necessary paperwork and money transfers hassle free. It has 8k miles on it and it is a garage queen! Cyber gray exterior, black interior, black wheels, 1LT and showroom clean!
I think when the day actually comes I would hate to see it go, because it's such a fun car! I just hate seeing it stuck in the garage with so little time to drive it. Any thoughts on how much it would fetch? I think the market for it has picked up recently. Any advice is appreciated.

Not what you think
Two weeks ago I traded in a 2013 GS 4LT coupe, MN6, F-55, Clear top,
chrome wheels, Npp exhaust. 10,700 miles in excellent shape. Window sticker was $72,200 new. (Car is on the lot at Terryville Chevy in Bristol, CT)
CarMax offer was $40k even. Autotrader offer was $41,700 (New feature where they have dealers who will buy your car).
Got $44,175 on trade against a 2012 GS 3LT vert. No F-55 or MN6.
I would think that a 1LT 2013 coupe is probably in the high $30s.

Around here I would say high 30's from a dealer. They sell in the low 40's here. I don't know where you are because you haven't finished filling out your profile.

Low 40s sounds about right. 1LT really hurts the prospective buyers on a GS, so your value drops pretty hard. I've been shopping my 2010 3 LT with 20 k miles on it around looking at STIs and have been getting low 40s for my value too. Not sure if I'm gonna do it or not yet

1LT is going to be a tough sell to get maximum price. Most people look for highly optioned cars. Even though you are selling a 2013, last model year for the GS I would be surprised if you are able to sell it for more than $40K.
But, if you find the right buyer anything is possible.

Go to kbb.com. Look at the trade-in value. Assume that any dealer will give you no more than low blue book less whatever he has to do to make the car saleable. Then go to the private sale value. Look at the high price for a private sale. That is the difference between handing the car over to a dealer and selling it yourself. BTW, if a dealer offers you more than the low blue book, he is making it up on the price of the car you are buying from him. He will always net out at low blue book. Good luck.
