Default Just purchased NPP exhaust are they legit?

Purchased these from a well known auction site:

Click http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-13-Corvette-C6-LS2-LS3-OEM-NPP-2-5-034-Mufflers-Dual-Mode-Bi-Modal-Grand-Sport-/261902151172?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=%252FCqM5QzNKgEWTckjtJBfFRaTcrE%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

Do you think this is a good deal? The more I looked at them they look kinda rusty for a 2013 set with less than 5000 miles.

Did I just get a bad deal, or do these really look like 2013 NPP exhaust?

Your thoughts please!

You dont think they look kinda rusty? I just looked at my base exhaust from a 2012 and they really do look brand new, no rust at all.

Those don't look rusty as much as needing a little clean up.

FYI, if the add is correct those are off of a Z06 so those pipes are 3" diameter. If you have a regular or GS Corvette your pipes would be 2.5". Nothing a muffler shop couldn't make work though.

The ad doesn't say they're off of a Z06. The ad for the NPP mufflers says 05-13 LS2 LS3. Granted that some other parts, the ad says they're off of a Z06.

You and I live in N. Texas...we don't see much surface rust here. Like the above poster said...they just need to be cleaned up a bit...that isn't a serious, pitted rust issue from what I can tell.

And I believe that is the 2.5" setup.

edits since I clicked on the wrong link to the units.

But if you car is the same year'ish, should bolt up fine and have the same over axle needed pipe bends.

As for the rust on the mufflers, does seem a bit excessive for only being a few year old, but should clean right off for what little rust there is.

And truth be told, kind of high in price and shipping, since you should be able to find then a lot lower through Craigslist in your area instead.

As for fitting your later model C-6 non Zo6, will need to have the axle over section pipes rework for the needed bends, and pipe reduction down to 2-1/2" as well.
This is not the same ad the OP posted, you clicked on another link on that page.....

The ad specifically says they came off a GS and have the 2.5 inch pipes.

I don't know if this will be of any help or not.
This photo of the underside of my 2013 GS was taken 4 months ago, with 7,000 miles on the clock.

Let me know if you need any help installing these when they come in. I am local and just recently installed 3" Z06 NPP's on my GS with LT's. There is definitely a trick to getting them to twist just the right way to get through the hole over the axle

They may be dirty, but the mufflers and the tips are stainless steel so they can't really rust in any serious way.

I guess I was looking at the wrong ad. I thought it said that they were Z06 NPP exhaust.

Z06's don't have an NPP exhaust. They have duel mode and do not have the holes. They are also 3 inch not 2.5 although the do narrow to 2.5 at the can's.

This is from the AD...
Up for auction is a nearly new set of genuine General Motors Corvette C6 NPP Dual Mode exhaust mufflers - less than 5,000 miles on them. They came off of a 2013 LS3 6.2 Liter (430 HP) motor with the NPP exhaust option that adds another 6 HP. All pieces have their General Motors embossed or engraved factory numbers or stickers. All parts are in very good condition with no dents - possibly some light normal road use scratches, etc. Really good condition as you can see.

These mufflers will fit stock 2005 thru 2013 Corvettes or the Corvette Grand Sport. Will not fit the Z06 & the ZR1 as they have 3" piping.

This set have 2 1/2" piping.
3.5 inches per tip.

Not true. 2006-2010 don't have the holes. 2011-2013 do. Mine:

order the sunset orange creations controller... you'll be very pleased.. also, order a vacuum ball from autozone and insert that into the line right before the controller and it will keep the valves closed under light constant throttle like factory.

With that controller i mentioned (it's more expensive) you can keep the exhaust completely closed in the "closed" mode. you can program the rpm opening and closing of the valves with it through the DIC as well. it also has the full open mode..

all of that you can control with the door lock button..

you will love the NPP... i also installed a late model (2012) NPP came off of a '12 GS with 5k miles on it.. what a score. paid $350 with the catted mid section as well.

if that add is right and they are off a 2008, keep in mind the bend at the crossover is at a slightly different angle than 2009+

you will need exhaust work they are not a direct fit for any exhaust post 2008 (e.g. 2009, 10, 11, 12, 13)
