Default Some light "mods" thought I'd share

So I swapped out some interior bits and did some other things since I got my vert a few weeks back and it feels like a different car.

First order of business, remove craptacular dealer ornamentation:

Yes, there's a Stingray Chevrolet near Tampa.

A little goo-gone and some light elbow grease, voila:

Goo gone always wins.

Next order of business was a Mild 2 Wild switch, which we all know the awesomeness of and no need for pics. Then onto the cheesy stock floor mats:

I think the C6 interior is very high end looking, but the floor mats that came with my car look like they were lifted from a 1996 Ford Tempo.

A custom set of Lloyds later:

Black mats work really well with the 2 tone leather.

And finally, covered the plasti-center console with the 2 tone leather cover:

I cannot believe how happy my arm is resting on the center console now, the padding and leather make a huge difference.

And there you have it! So for a few ticks over $300, just a world of difference in the appearance and comfort of the interior, plus throw a mild2wild in to boot!

When I saw the first pic, I thought you added the STINGRAY letters. You would have taken a beating on here for that.

Thank God you removed the craptastic "Stingray" badge. Maher Chevrolet in St. Pete does the same thing with their new C7s.

What always amazes me, is the fact that so many people buy new cars, especially expensive ones, and allow the dealer to install their logos, license plate frames, stickers, nameplates, all over the place.

Every time I've purchased a new car, I've had the salesman write on the invoice, "NO DEALERS NAME PLATE ON THIS CUSTOMER'S CAR".
I tell the salesman, if there is a name plate when I come to pick it up, they will not get paid until it is removed to my satisfaction.
Just a pet peeve of mine, rant over!

Same here. I might live with the license frame because those can be easily removed, but the stick-on things ... never. Many years ago they used to actually drill holes in the car to put their dealer name on the car!

You got Lloyd's mats and a leather console cover for $300? That seems really a bargain. Where'd you get the console done?

And I've gotta ask ... this relates to a post on here a couple months ago ... did you get the special vacuum to clean the mats with ... one that doesn't snag and pull fibers out? I thought that one was classic.

That is absolutely correct. Unfortunately, dealers stick that crapola on cars before you buy them so you are correct to demand the removal unless you're receiving a $10K discount. I can't imagine how anyone would spend $70K on a Vette and tolerate that 50-cent AutoZone junk.

Deja vu!
Purchased a new 1964 Olds Cutless convertible.
When I went to take delivery, there was "South Shore Oldsmobile", installed on the trunk lid.
A chrome surfaced, pot metal name plate, about 1.5" high x 8" long, requiring 3 holes to be drilled in the trunk lid, so the pins could be mounted with clips internally.

A very unhappy dealer needed to remove the name plate, fill the holes, and repaint the trunk lid before I took the car.
Fortunately for them the paint was an exact match, or I never would have accepted it.

Thankfully dealers don't drill and rivet those things like they did in the past.
