Default Safelite wtf

Hello all. Safelite just replaced my 05 windshield and now it looks like this. Am I correct that this is wrong? And is the molding ****ed now?

I plan to have them replace the windshield on my 97 Tbird..wind blown sand blast damage.

I wouldn't let these guys anywhere near any of my Corvettes. They portend to replace windshields on any automobile...NOT. They don't have the expertise to replace all cars windshields and I'd guess they are not very well paid.

I had a similar situation on another one of my vehicles. I called Safelite and told them that what they had done was unacceptable and sent a different installer out. He corrected the problem.

Ask the forum members if needed to post some pix of what it should look like. Hope you can resolve the problem without too much hassle.

Thanks all. Safelite told me to bring it to one of their stores and they will fix it. I just hope that the rubber isn't screwed up.

If it is screwed up, they'll owe you a new one!

I like Safelite.
They have always done right by me.

By the looks of your car, the guy probably figured that you don't care about your car... That is my opinion which I get from the picture of the top of your left door.
Busted rubber, crappy paint, faded out plastic a-pillar.

Yup, and they will make it right w/o any baloney.

Just had w/s on my Trailblazer replaced sitting in my driveway, coming out to my home did incur a charge though. While a TBer's not a Corvette he did a great job, nonetheless. Guy was uber-professional.

As for what SL pays their installers?
Whatever's their pay at least they're not mugging me, actually working for a living.

My experience with SafeLite has been better than taking chances with an unknown, I think. I had my original windshield replaced last Friday; I went through Farmers Insurance and that worked out well-$0 cost to me

The rear view mirror was wobbly and I took it into the SafeLite shop Tuesday and they fixed that.

Co-incidentally, my Duralast batter died Saturday and then on the way to the dealer, the radio was static y so I thought that was SafeLite's fault......it wasn't after a new battery in the car (and replaced FOB batteries) AND $206 to the dealer....the radio worked. So all SafeLite had to do was tighten the rear-view mirror.

They replaced my son's windshield on his GTO and when you would look out the windshield toward the passenger side diagonally from the drivers seat or vice a versa the view was all wavy and distorted, cheap Korean windshield. Plus they scratched the car.
On my daughters Camaro's windshield was chipped and cracked they got resin on the hood which hardened and was difficult to remove. I'll never use them. Nothing like clear resin bonded to you paint

My first thought was "geez". Hard to believe someone would be that insulting.

i agree. the installer probably took the condition of the surrounding rubber, plastic etc into account and thought a simple add a rubber molding was sufficient..

stop beating up the member that voiced their opinion, we all have one. who are you guys to judge? that member, like i did, made an observation based on facts. you guys are projecting your degree of sensitivity and/or censorship onto others.

good god.. the guy said HE PROBABLY DIDN'T THINK YOU CARED ABOUT YOUR CAR

not "you don't care about your care"

I had them work on my 98 Grand Prix, and just recently replace the rear window of my Cadillac. Satisfied both times with no issues.
But the Cadillac is just one big piece of glass that sits on the back.

What, in your opinion, the installer "probably figured" about the car or owner has NOTHING WHAT SO EVER to do with a proper repair. Seriously? Seriously.

Default Safelite wtf

Had Safelite replace the windshield on my 2006 C6 a couple of months ago. They managed to rope saw thru the interior trim panel at the top of the windshield. They were very open and professional about their mistake. Replaced the trim of course at their cost.

Safelite fixed their mistake. Thanks to "most" for the replies. I apologize for not wiping the sweat and hand prints of the window tech off the trim before I took my pic. Yes, my trim has a few small chips. As does the cars front bumper cover. My car gets enjoyed on a daily basis. She has over 100,000 enjoyed miles on her clock. She has seen rain often as I do not have a garage. God forbid you see the pictures of her with 6 inches of snow over her. If your mechanic adjusts the level of his skills or care based on the condition of the vehicle, maybe it's time for a new "professional" mechanic. I'm sorry that you only get to enjoy your car on warm sunny days. And yes, I have 4 cars and a motorcycle but as far as driving, I prefer to take the Vette. If my trim bothers anyone, they are more than welcome to send a professional to replace it. Lol
