How many Corvette owners have run into threads about the GT.R vs The Corvette? Before searching for my first supercar I looked at the GT.R on the used market as 1st gens are in 60k range.
Im happy I chose the Corvette but what does the forum think about the comparisions made between the two?
Nissan built the GT.R to compete against the 911 but ive seen more people compare the Corvette to GT.R .....Any thoughts

The GT-R is a monster on a road course track!!!!
With 4 wheel drive and active handling, GM is light years from coming up with a production Corvette on the same playing field as the GT-R in these conditions/the refinement of tech that went into the GT-R to make it perform that way it does.
To put is bluntly, the GT-R is a scrapple on a road course, while the Corvette is a meat cleaver with more HP than needed to try to make up the difference instead. Take willow springs ,and either a GT-3 or GT-R, and either of these cars are seconds faster on that track then even a current C7 Z-07.
As for rolling racing, or 1/4 mile lap times, neither has anything to do with a cars cornering/braking abilities, and kind of a moot point when you are talking sports cars (reserve for muscle cars and straight running instead).

Safety Car
It's ugly for one. It's a Nissan for 2. Won't ever be in my garage. Ever.

Not quite sure what the title of this thread is about as both cars are so different, but I love the GTR. When I saw it up close, it really looked better than some of the pictures I've seen. If I could afford it, it would be in my garage along with me Vette. I've always been a Vette fan though, so if I could only have one sports car the Vette would be it.

Id have to disagree based on the Corvettes racing heritage and the fact the C5 has all but brought the Corvette past its sports car beginnings.
Much like people who refer to the Corvette as a muscle car many people have different opinions on what a supercar is.
To me any car that exceeds 170 mph is considered a supercar.
Any car that exceeds 1.0g on the skidpad is a supercar.
Any car the common person cant afford or cant afford to maintain is a supercar.
When your tires cost as much as your monthly mortgage you might own a supercar
When your engine makes the power of a 100k supercar....example Ferrari 360 400hp you might own a supercar
When your car is 60 years old and has a race heritage as deep as Ferrari you might own a supercar.
When the most expensive version of your car ie C6 ZR1 uses the same carbon ceramic rotors as Ferrari Enzo and Ferrari Fxx and every Ferrari in the lineup uses the same magnetic shocks as your Corvette you might own a supercar.....yea id say the Corvette is a supercar
