Default 2006 can clicking sound

Hey guys, my 2006 c6 makes a clicking sound when I turn both ways. Any suggestions? What parts would I need to buy?

Thoughts much appreciated
Thx

Hard to tell unless we know what area of the car the sound is coming from. If it's from the rear, it could be the differential. Mine made a clicking noise during a slow sharp turn so I took it to the dealer under warranty and they changed the differential fluid. No more noise.

Check the wheel hubs.

Tie rod end links too but these will be noisy over bumps also.

Betting on the hubs.

I am assuming the sound is from the front?

There have generally been two issues in earlier C6's that could be the cause of the noise you're describing. First are loose rear axle shaft nuts & the second is clutch slippage in the posi-diff. Both are relatively easy DIY fixes. For the axle shaft nuts, you'll need a 33mm socket to check for looseness. If so, the nuts can be temporarily re-tightened to 140# to see if that cures the noise. If so, the old nuts should be removed & replaced with new since they are "torque to yield" design. GM p/n is 10257766 & cost only a few bucks each. You'll also need some Permetex Red Threadlocker. Do a search for "axle nut replacement" for the full instructions. Noise from the diff. is caused by clutch pack slippage due to insufficient friction modifier in the factory diff. fluid. The fix is to drain & refill with Dexron LS Gear Oil, GM p/n 88862624, which has the correct concentration of friction modifier. Again, do a search for "differential fluid replacement" for full instructions. Hope this information helps....

If the noise is truly coming from the front, you may have a bad wheel bearing.
