Default curb rash repair

Had a truck suddenly come over and force me into a curb. Caught the rim but nothing else luckily. Rim has a 3 to 4 inch scrape. There is a shop in town I think can repair it. Just wanted to ask if anyone has had this done and what was the cost. At least I didn't have my new to me gumbys' on. Thx

The dealer I bought my one owner from had the wheel rash fixed by a guy they knew, not an employee, but he did a perfect job. No cost to me. I'd ask to see some of your guy's results. He should have some pics at least. Good luck, and BTW, none of us believe your truck story...

Is it a gloss black wheel?

I scraped a curb with my wife's new 14 Mercedes C250 two months after we bought it. It was all me and no truck was involved. They are silver painted spokes and polished rim with clear coat. The repair was $125.00 and turned out great.

My wife hit a curb with both passenger side wheels in her Caddy ATS. There was pretty significant cosmetic damage. Took it to a guy who has a trailer that goes around to the higher end dealers and you'd never know anything happened. Fortunately, her wheels are painted. Cost was around $140 each. Had they been chrome, it's closer to $200 each.

On one wheel, the clear coat ran a little and he wasn't satisfied so said to bring it back the next day so we did. The guy was a perfectionist.

Does anybody know of one of these wheel repair people in the DFW area? There was this airplane that swooped down and...

Never mind. But we do need a minor repair on a chrome wheel. Thanks in advance for any information.

We trudge on.

Chrome usually needs to be stripped and re-chromed, a time consuming process and not cheap. Especially if the wheel(s) needs to be shipped out because no one local can do it.

Polished is similar to painted, much easier.

Good luck to you.
