Hydraulic clutch fluid Flush every 2 years?
My manual on 2011 GS says flush the Hydraulic fluid once every 2 years. Went to Chev dealer and they told me to come back at 80,000km, not required. Anyone else have any experience or opinion on this? He said if it isn't leaking there is no need to replace it.

Here you go, fast and easy to do it yourself. I do mine at least once a year.

I change mine frequently. The first time was at 10,000 miles, about 14 months, it was black and took almost a whole bottle of Synthetic DOT4. Then again at 12,000 about 3 months later it dark brown and took a lot less. The last time I changed mine was about three weeks ago at 15,000 and it was brown but only took about 4 ounces.
I drive a lot of curves and use my clutch a lot.
It's good preventative maintenance.
Edit: I use the Ranger Method

Your dealer / service manager is wrong. As others have said, change it at least every two years. I change mine at least annually. A friend of mine just paid for a new master and slave cylinder on his 13,000 mile '07, which had never been changed....lots of $!! Clutch pedal stuck to the floor, and wouldn't come back, even after changing fluid..... don't listen to your dealer!

Thanks for all the feedback and tips. I guess I better get mine changed asap. I have 15,000km on it now. not sure why the head mechanic at the chev dealer is telling me something else. I may have to find a new service dpt.

Change your fluid at least every two years. I just had the dreaded clutch to the floor syndrome. Blew the master cylinder just this past Wednesday. Had 10006 miles at the time and at 39 months. Dealer said the fluid was pretty dirty. Cost to change fluid at the dealer is less than $150 so even paying full price is not that much.

And when performing the Ranger Method always cover the driver's side fender and painted components around the clutch fluid reservoir as clutch/brake fluid is great paint stripper.

I do the Ranger Method every couple of months to keep the fluid clear and clean. Also, once opened, the fluid doesn't last that long, so you may as well put it in the car.

Good point! Long before there were hydraulic clutches (i.e. my 1967 vette), I was doing this with my power steering reservoir ...and brake reservoir on various vehicles. This method is by far the quickest and easiest method for maintaining clean fluid, albeit not the most complete method for having clean fluid.
