Which Outlet for Battery Charger
I'm getting one of those plug in adapters for a battery tender to plug into the car's outlet. Now my dumb question...... which outlet do you plug into? The car has 2, one up front for the traditional cigarette lighter, and one in the center console for auxiliary devices like a phone charger. Will either work ok?

I use the one in the "ashtray" door, then run the wire out the passenger door in the rain groove. The wire is free to move and not pinched.
ps. I removed the actual cigarette lighter first day I got home and leave it out.

There is a separate 20A fuse for each. Otherwise the wiring for both is identical. Personally I use the one in the console simply because it is easier for me to reach from outside the car.

i hook mine directly to the battery and then unplug it when and if i have to start the vehicle for whatever reason. " the path to least resistance."

We use the ashtray location and wrap the cord around the shifter before running through the groove under the door. The cord around the shifter is a handy reminder to unplug it before moving.

I'm really pleased with this set up. I cant imagine anything easier to hookup and I never even bother to undo it, I just back out of the garage, no worries! No wires through doors or threading the wire a certain way, just clip it on when you get home and let it fall to the floor when you back up.

Thanks folks. I have a little 1.5amp Schumacher charger/tender that I purchased at Wal Mart a few years back that has worked well for me on other vehicles, but it only has the alligator clips to attach to the battery posts. It does have the quick disconnect for them however, and the after market cigarette style plug (Battery Tender brand) that I just purchased attaches fine to the unit. The plug has an inline 3 amp internal fuse. Can't think of any reason why it shouldn't work ok with that charger. Before I try it out, can anyone think of anything I missed? Couldn't find an actual plug made by Schumacher.
