Default LED install instructions.

I bought a kit of about 11 or 12 LED bulbs for my 05.. problem is that they did not send any instructions on where the various bulbs go. I have contacted them and no response.... does anyone know of somewhere online I can look for a guide?

Go to this website, http://www.carid.com/2005-chevy-corvette-led-lights/, look at the individual bulb listings, there will be pics of the bulbs. You should be able to match what you have to where they go this way. Try this one also, https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/...te--/11-412--/

map/mirror lights (2), Footwells (2), Hatch area (2), Lic. Plate (2), Glove box (1), engine bay (1). As you pull the lights out you will see the differences in the bulbs. I think the 2 odd ones (have a looped wire end)go in the hatch/trunk area. The others are mostly the same bulbs.

This should cover most of them, with tips.

Most of the LED bulbs I have dealt with are polarity specific. In other words, if you put it in and it doesn't work, take it out and turn it 180 degrees and put it back. Might save some aggravation! JB

They all are, it's the nature of LED's. Just test them before you put everything back together.

FYI- The footwell lights will time out with the door open, so to test them, you have to get up from the floor, close the door and re-open it to turn them back on.

Maps can be tested by the push button or **** on lower dash (push it in).

ok, y'all sucked me in to the game

I bought LEDs

why is there a slight afterglow that stays on for the map lights ?
one LED flickered,so, I swapped it out which corrected that situation.

they work properly, but, have that faint glow

I did hook up my battery tender to offset the drain

anyone else notice this ?

My map lights also have a glow. I keep car on a tender, so I don't worry about it. It's very common for the lights to glow, but only the map lights.

I have been told LEDs use MUCH less power. The residual power running through your system is not enough to make the original bulbs glow but LEDs will. They will not run your battery down. Mine have been in for two years. No battery tender and no battery issues. (My battery is the original in my 2010).

I installed the LEDs throughout....was concerned about the potential "afterglow"...but for some reason, when mine go out they are off completely! Wonder what the difference is

^^^^^ That's me as well. No afterglow here. I installed all LEDs on the inside and the outside market lights and license plate lights as well.

Must have something to do with the specific bulbs used......don't know!

My guess without measuring one that glows vs. one that doesn't is the value of the current limiting resistor built into the base of the bulb.

I've never noticed a glow from mine when off, but never looked closely either. If they do, I can't even tell in a completely dark garage.

For the record, I used store bought "name brand" LED bulbs for the map lights as those were the only 2 I needed at the time. They were "Pilot" brand found in auto stores and places like Walmart. I got the 5 LED version as was not sure if the longer 9 LED 194 bulbs would fit in the map housing.
