Default 2014 Corvette Key Fob Entry

Does anyone know if the C7 Corvette key transmitters will work for our cars? The FCC ID is the same. And they're a lot cheaper than the C6 variants.

Either way, I bought one for $30 shipped with a key (which I'll have to modify to work in my 07Z). I'll report back once I get it.

IIRC the communications on C7's are 433Mhz and C6's are 315Mhz. It's for sure that way on the TPS, so logically the rest is too.

If the FCC ID number is the same, then it is likely to work. I haven't heard of anyone trying it yet....so be sure to report back. Other than the new logo, does the new fob look different from the '08-'13?

I read that the frequencies were different as well, but the post above is under the same impression as mine. If the FCC ID is the same, it is the same unit. If it were on a different frequency range, the FCC would've identified it as a different unit.

Either way, it was $30. If it doesn't work, oh well.

The keys look the same with the exception of the logo. This is also a 2014 fob so maybe 15+ they changed.

the C6 RCDLR comunicates for both FOB & TPMS......

in Europe at 433mhz
in USA at 335mhz
in Japan at 315mhz(?)

If you pull the key and look at the number on the bottom of the fob...
25926481 or 25926482 , then you have a European 433mhz.
25926479 or 25926480 , then you have a USA 335mhz.
25926483 or 25926484 , then you have a Japanese 315(?)mhz.

i've seen some 2014- fobs being sold for at or near $30 and in every one they were "FOR CASE ONLY". also some sold with just a short 4 digit number on them like this (which represents the last 4 digits of the gm part number)...

here are the part numbers available for 2014- , i would expect to see 6 different ones (usa, ero, japan) , but i count 8!! i have NOT researched why , maybe thats a topic to bring up in C7 section.
My point is , careful if you purchase a 2014- fob , there are many and they are different!!

That list is interesting...it looks like 2 Europe, 2 USA but 4 for Japan. Vert and coupe for Europe and USA but then 2 at 315mhz and 2 named Japan at 315mhz. Weird.

I tried to program an extra 2009 fob on my 2014, and it not only didn't work completely, it temporarily, partially UNprogrammed my existing '14 fob. It would only remote start and let me into the car, but would not let me drive off with it. Disconcerting, to say the least. After the car timed out, the existing fob starting working again .

So they look the same, and I thought they were interchangeable, but they are NOT .

I have not tried it with a c7 fob on my c6, but I don't think I want to.

Eta: my 2014 is an auto vert.

Hmm. That is interesting to say the least. I've got a Tech 2 at home, so if I have to relearn everything it only takes a couple of minutes.
