Out with the semi old...
Today I decided to update the look of the 2010 Z I purchased this year.
This was taken on the day I picked it up.
And now for today's shot:
These are stock z06 rims from a 2008. I did have them powder coated and cleared. the centers are from a polished rim.
I realize black is the new chrome, but this is now 100% Vader so I am happy

I'm usually 100% for black wheels but in this case I think the vette looks better in the before pic.
I think to pull off the second pic you have to get black center caps. That looks like a mismatch to me.

I have a second second set of centers, as I really liked my old c6 with gray + these same centers. I go back and forth. I really didn't like the chrome wheel, and loved the split spoke, but a quick rattle can of gloss on the silver center set and I will be total Vader.

I'm not a black wheel fan. I like the first picture better.

Even I must admit that chrome spyders are hard to beat on a black car. But if you are going for the blacked out look, then you're getting there.
Maybe a different set of black wheels would set it off right....

Looks ok.
Peenonally I love the spiders and would have had them powder coated bkack.

Thanks but chrome is a bitch to strip I had emailed House of Wheels for a quote to get black spiders with the time attack stripe but no response. So I went with my favorite Z06 rim which is the spike spoke from the earlier models.

Didn't think of that. You ended up with your favorite so it's all good.

i bought the black chrome spyders for my 012 CE GS which i feel will look really good on a dark car. couldn't decide on black or chrome so i went with black chrome to give me the best of both worlds. will have them put on one day next week and will post up some pics just to get some feed back as to whether i made the right choice.
