C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
Everyone will tell you to go for a 08 because it's a LS3 but my LS 2 powers me just fine.

2020 Corvette of the Year Finalist (performance mods)
C4 of Year Winner (performance mods) 2019
There's more changes in 08 than just the engine. Buy the latest model you can find with decent miles and the options you want.
Here's a link with changes by model year.

Race Car Tech
Go with a 3LT optioned car at the very least. You may not use all the creature comforts, but you will have them if you need them instead of looking to add them later at a greater cost. example HUD, seat heaters, memory seats, etc.
Both the LS2 and LS3 drivetrain are bulletproof, so you can't go wrong with either. The LS3 will give you 30+ more horsepower if that is important to you.
The biggest thing to check for is the Harmonic Balancer Wobble. It can be seen at idle, so just a matter of looking down to see if it does and noticeable.
There is a recall on the low beam headlights (ground wire issue)
Get a GM dealer to run a GMVIS report for you (free) based on the Vin #. It gives you all the maintenance records performed at any GM dealer, and list of recalls, and if completed. It also gives you all the options that the car has.
If you can't get one done at a GM dealer, then just ask on here and many members can get one for you.
Good Luck
