Default 10k Miles on rear brakes worn already

I replaced the front and rear brake pads and rotors (OEM) 10k miles ago and the rears will need to be replaced within the next few thousand miles. Brake clips and pins were lubed properly and pads slide fine on the clips. The front pads have plenty to go.

2008 Base coupe, Z51 with skinny 285 Michelin PS2 ZP's with about 20% tire life left. I am wondering if the active handling has been busy since the A&A S/C install 8k miles ago?

Are the pads wearing evenly, inside vs. outside?

More wear showing on the inside on both pads.

I know you said you lubed the guides, but have you removed the pads and checked the caliper movement by hand?

If you like lighting up the tires, or nearly so; the Traction Control system uses the rear brakes to control wheelspin.

Typically the front brakes do most of the braking and should be wearing out sooner than the rear. And what Gearhead Jim said.

Not lately, but the car will roll easily in neutral with no drag feel even when pushed by hand.

My thinking is during a roll with WOT, the Active handling/Traction control is working hard to keep the car straight. This week I just put on a new set of TSW rims and 265/305 front/rear Michelin Super Sport non run flat tires to help with traction. Hopefully, this set up will alleviate some Active handling/Traction control engagement.

Thanks to those who responded!

My thoughts are on two possible issues. First do you drag race at the track and is it an A6. If so and you do not have a line lock and you are using the brakes to do your burnout in the water box, that would be a cause. Second, if you are doing a lot of hard stated or really jumping on it from a roll with the T/C on with your SC I beat the T/C is trying to control the wheel spin.

It's a manual and never been to the track or hard launches. I am thinking the latter, T/C and A/H are both braking to keep the car straight from my WOT rolls. I keep them on all the time. Hopefully, my new wider tires and rims will help the nannies out.
