SiriusXM Radio?

It came free for 6 months on the last two vehicles...........honda and F150.
I don't like it for the same reasons I dislike satelite TV.............too many useless drivel channels. Have to admit ******* Roadhouse, classical music, and reggae channels aren't bad.
On longer road trips I enjoy tuning in to whatever local channels I happen to be in range of, to get local news, etc.
Any more you can download hundreds of songs on memory sticks, mp3, bluetooth to satisfy craving for music while on the road.

I bought the Lifetime Subcription back when they offered it for my 2010 Camaro SS. Since they don't offer lifetime anymore, no...it's not worth it. I've got my mp3s, Pandora, youtube, and quite a few good terrestrial radio stations to listen to.

If money is of no concern, then you should get it. But for only being in the car twice a week???? It doesn't seem cost effective.
Having said that, I have two lifetime subscriptions, and honestly will never be without Sirius/XM regardless of the car I'm driving.
They are very negotiable on price too, just keep saying 'no' and the price will keep going down.

I like it a lot. I have about 12 channels I listen to on a regular basis, and about 10 more I use on occasion to mix things up.
I have the full subscription, so I also listen in my home via the phone app or the XM web version on the computer. Both my phone and computer are connected to my home stereo and there are no reception problems associated with using the satellite connection and the sound quality is great.
Also, on the phone or computer you can customize the channels you listen to for the type of music and you can choose "music only" and not have to listen to annoying DJ's. I'm not a big TV guy, so I have XM playing on the stereo most of the day. I also use it in the car, but the reception isn't as good and you can't customize it.
Since I listen several hours a day every day and enjoy it, I've had the full subscription since I bought my GS in 2013. First year was free (with the 2lt package), second year I paid. The final cost (after taxes, royalty fees, etc.) was $234 for the year.
I'm not one whose going to call every six months, threaten to cancel, argue with a retention specialist, etc., etc., to get a lower rate. I use the service every day, like it, and decided to pay. However, $234 is fairly steep and pretty much at my limit.
This year the bill came and, with taxes, royalty fees, etc., it was.............$292!
That's a big increase and frankly, even for a heavy user like me, a ridiculous price given the number of options available for streaming music. I went ahead and paid it, but this will be the last year. I'm going to be working this year on an alternative and ditch XM when it comes due next time.
I've been collecting all the stuff I need to mount my phone in the car and be hooked to the aux input. I'm in the process of sampling various streaming services and will choose whatever suites me the best. Whatever it ends up being, I'll run it through the phone in the car, and phone or computer in the house.
So as a person who likes and uses the service heavily, I'm concluding that it's just not worth the cost. And if they could run off someone like me with their pricing, I think that about says it all!
Good luck with your choice.

I really like XM.
I don't like listening to a song, then go to a commercial, then song, then...
I also don't care to fiddle with the radio trying to find the next station, then it goes out, look again...
I get a 6 mos deal when I take the car out in the Spring. Next time I'm going to try getting a 1 year sub. I've still got the car out today so my XM went away Oct this year...too early!

I think they're one of the most horrible company's around and don't have it in my C6. My wife likes it a lot so I subscribe for her car only. Pandora's too hard for her to deal with.

I have had XM for years in my daily driver as well as the corvette. I rarely ever listen to local channels except to hear the local news on the way to work in the morning. On road trips it's great not having to always search to find a channel. I would suggest getting a 5 month trial for $30.00 and call to cancel before it expires. If you like it you can get a deal on a year supscription. I just renewed the corvette for $62.86 for a year (total all taxes included), yea it took 15 minutes on the phone but was worth it for the savings. Or you can do like all the cool kids and just use your phone.

Seems in Canada - having to negotiate for a better cost - works the same as in the US.
I just renewed 3 vehicles last week - and had received an email invoice of $192/yr each.
But after threatening to drop all 3 - renewed at $99 plus taxes & fees = $129/yr each!

Since I pretty much DD my C6 from May1-Oct 1, I really like having XM in the car. I have about 5-6 favorites, and seldom listen to anything but XM when I'm in the car. I can't imagine not having XM during our yearly road trips. The CD seldom gets used in the C6.
I renew each Spring, and each year they have raised the price.
2012-$90.78
2013-$95.95
2014-$103.50
2015-$119.25
As long as it stays around that 2015 amount for the year, I'm OK with it. Anymore than $120.00 and I'll be threatening to cancel, and get a price I'm comfortable with or cancel. There are a lot of options as mentioned.
Unfortunately, all the companies are the same. They keep putting up the price to see where a person's threshold is at
OnStar was doing the same thing, and since I seldom used it, I let it go when it doubled in price. They offered to reduce that by 1/3, but I refused and told them to cancel me.

To me, calling a retention specialist to go from $292 a year to about $100 would be time well spent. I'd be on the phone an hour every time I could save $170 on a service. I can get it for $50 every 6 mos with not much haggling (as long as you can deal with them trying to speak English).

Of course the bill can be lowered significantly if I lower the package level, but then it won't work for me. I've got to have the internet package because, as I said, I do most of my listening through my home stereo.
Also want the sports channels because I don't have cable and therefore can't get a lot of the games I want.
For the All Access, I'll bet the "call and threaten to cancel" hassel will save closer to $100/year (not $170)-- if it's even possible. The discounts might only be given for the "Mostly Music" level that won't work for me.
And people's experiences seem to vary widely. Some get the discount fairly quickly and easily, others give harrowing stories of screwing around for days-- they actually have to cancel, then they get an invitation the next day to come back, etc., etc.
Maybe some times I'd get lucky and quickly get a good deal on the full package, but I'm sure other times I'd experience the nightmare scenario of others. Either way, I'm not going to jump through hoops like a trained seal begging and pleading to SirusXM every six months to save a hundred bucks or so per year.
When I deal with a company for a service, their choices are these:
1. They give me a good service at a fair price that I gladly pay.
2. I walk and find a company that will do number 1 above.
Sorry-- no XM retention drone is going to make me beg for a hundred bucks! Ain't-a-gonna do it on principle alone...
But apart from principle, there appears to be plenty of low-cost and even free options to XM that will fill my needs just as well as XM. So by being ridiculous with their pricing, they induced me to shop around and, in so doing, have caused themselves to lose me as a customer.

I have it and like it in all of my cars. It cost too much but you can battle with them and get the cost down.

I like the Sirius in my car a bunch for the wide variety of channels available, can always find something to fit the mood. I do not like the price. The first owner of my 2008 Vette purchased the lifetime package and I have enjoyed free service for almost two years.

I have it in all three of my cars, and apparently like it our I wouldn't have it. Is it worth it? Not if it's a burden on your budget, but if it's not, it's a nice luxury. One good thing is you don't get fadeout and have to change stations on a long trip. We took two trips over Thanksgiving ... one to the Atlanta area, and another to Starkville, MS for a football game, and we listened to nothing but XM.
You can negotiate a much better price than they like to charge. I think for all three of my cars it's about $300/year.
