Nothing to be proud of there !! Spend good money on a car and be too cheap to maintain it right. Looks like a twin overhead cam straight 6, BMW ??

Shoulda hada Frantz toilet paper oil filter. Seems like they said you never had to change your oil, just toss in a new roll of butt wipe ever so often.

I remember reading years ago that some guy bought a Rolls Royce and had the hood welded shut until he got to 100,000 miles. Wonder what it looked like inside?

I don't think any engine in a car I'm going to be driving for the next 15-20 years will be ready to do that.

That's what I was thinking. A little Marvel Mystery Oil to help clean it up and presto. A new engine.

Very common thing. Seen a lot of engines like this. Some people just don't care. Pennzoil mineral based motor oil engines often look like this even with frequent oil changes.

...the real sad part here is that when she took it in to the dealership complaining that the car was "running rough" they told her that all she needed was to have her turn signal fluid changed.

You all think this is funny, and no reasonable person would subject an engine to this, but my next door neighbor thought that synthetic oil meant he never had to change it.

The engine blew at ~40,000 miles.

He said Dodge covered it under warranty, but I think he lied to cover his ignorance (after he learned a very hard lesson).

Hard to fathom anyone being so uninformed with all the information on the web.
