C6 Clutch Travel

C6 Clutch Travel
One of the things I would like to change on my "new" 2005 Corvette is where the clutch engages. I'm used to a much lower engagement point then this Vette seems to have.
Is there any way to make the clutch bite sooner? From what I saw at the dealer's there doesn't seem to be any simple way to do this.

Short answer is no,
But if you change the C6 clutch pedal assist spring with a C5 clutch pedal assist spring, it will give you a better feel of when the clutch is engaging instead.
Hence the spring cams over about the middle point of the pedal travel, so at the top of the pedal, it holding the pedal up against the clutch pedal upper switch. From about the clutch pedal middle point to the floor, the spring is helping you to hold the pedal to the floor instead. So the smaller spring has less assist both ways, and allows for a better feel of the clutch pedal as the clutch does start to engage on the way back up (so you are feeling more clutch, and less spring assist).
C6 on the left, C 5 on the right,
And the spring is installed on the clutch pedal here,

I tried no spring for a week or so and did not notice much difference over the c5 spring.
I think not using a spring would allow the weight of the pedal to press (albeit lightly) against the throwout bearing. I don't know if that matters but obviously it is something the engineers did not want to occur.

I just changed my clutch spring over to the C5 and it's a big difference in driving quality. It's much easier to predict and rev match now.

You're after a clutch stop. Both ECS and lingenfelter make one.
The over under spring that everyone is here is describing only affects the force action of the pedal throughout it's range.

I did a DIY clutch stop, (long bolt and furniture stopper) it was an interesting journey. I think if you have a 05 you wont have the same problems because i have a voltage sweep potentiometer the earlier c6 have a button press? and getting the car to start for me required the clutch smashed to the floor and i had to do a CPP relearn.
But, it feels great having 50% of useless travel at the bottom end eliminated. Basically i start lifting my foot off and it starts engaging. And you can definitely DIY it instead of paying the 80$ of whatever for lingenfelter.
