Default Battery Tender

Just got my 2009 C6. When I had my C4 i would use a battery charger and set it a 2.5 amps for storage over the winter 4-5 months depending on how early spring came. Now with the C6 could I use the same 2.5 amp battery charger or drop down to a .75 or 1.5 amp battery tender?

I am not 100% positive but I believe you need to tricky at max 1 amp. I am using a .75 amp charger and works fine.

others will chime in otherwise google is useful.

I use a Battery Tender Plus at 1.25 amps. It only charges when needed unlike a battery charger.

I would get a battery maintainer. They do a better job keeping the battery at it's correct voltage.
I also us a Battery Tender Plus, but you can get one from Walmart for $20 that works just as well. A Battery Tender Plus will set you back $50.

Thanks for all the feedback, I decided on the Battery Tender Plus it was the choice for most of my corvette friends.

I would keep it at the lower setting and also make sure that it is shutting off when the battery is full charged.

Not a bad idea. I don't like leaving mine on 24-7 either. I'll leave mine on for 2-3 hours about 3-4 times a week. All these new electrical things just seem to darn cheaply made for me to trust plugged in all the time. And contrary to what the "experts" say....theres really no need to keep them on all the time.

I think the idea isn't so much of leaving the battery fully charged at all times but to keep the battery warm over the cold winter months, if I were storing over the summer then perhaps just a disconnect would suffice.

I keep mine on a battery tender jr. Keep it plugged in 24-7 when not driving the car.
