Got My Car Tuned On The Dyno
Brought my car into 21st century muscle cars, apparently the last tune that was on it was lean so i couldn't get a proper base line to see what i came in with. Car ended up leaving with 425 rwhp & 385 rwtq This car only has a baby upgraded camshaft & ls7 headerback exhaust (factory air box)
C6 base, 3LT, LS2, 6speed manual.
What would you guys do next?
Is this respectable power for whats done to the car ?

425 to the wheels is certainly an improvement. A typical street cam upgrade with a good lift, springs, headers, and CAI should put you at 475-490 rwhp. Your setup, while making good power, must have very little change in the cam.

Yeah i was thinking upgrade the ls7 manifolds to real long tubes with a X pipe or something, and do one of the popular cold air intake set ups, id be happy if it could break 450 ish give or take, Pretty much stock z06 power levels correct ? I know the ls7 makes more TQ.

On just about every LS2 / LS3 that I have seen dyno numbers (including my own), the torque and HP numbers are very close together.
425 RWHP and 385 Torque just don't make sense.

Yeah i don't know much about the cam, you can barely tell it has one from the sound, maybe an aftermarket exhaust would make it sound more noticeable.

I miss the big cam lope though. 😁
Good luck brother.

So you have an LS2 with a small cam upgrade and some stock exhaust from a Z06 that made 425 HP ??? That sounds incredible to me. Doesn't the LS2 rated at 400HP make RWHP at around 360 stock?
I'd be happy as a clam in soup if I were you.
I'm hoping with LTH & dyno tune that my LS3 makes close to that when I do it

My 2011 GS (LS3 / A6) with LT headers w/ cats and a tune made 405 RWHP / 401 Torque on the DynoJet.

Alot of the cars ive seen with close TQ and HP numbers were just bolt on cars, no aftermarket cam.
I know it would help if i had the cam specs but i don't

I was under the impression that those 2 modifications would result in around 45 RWHP, taking the LS3 from 385HP to 425HP or so That's disappointing

Back to topic, the Op has done pretty good with his mods. My only real comment is that if you are going to swap the cam, make the swap count. Op has a nice power gain. An LS2 at 425 is nothing to dismiss for sure. A little more cam would have him right where he wants to be 450ish.

I would think 425 rwhp for an LS2 is great. I think the only way to get more is to spend more money....long tube headers, new heads, etc. Not sure where you would be but I'm guessing in the 450 range.

Hmmmm. About 30whp Just headers and tune. Sounds about right.

My LS3 is an automatic. An M6 will lose 12% HP do to parasitic loss in the drivetrain, but an A6 will lose 15%.
My LS3 / A6 made 371 RWHP when bone stock ... With catted headers and a tune, it made 405 RWHP. That's a gain of 34 RWHP.

BTW ... 436 HP less 15% = 371 HP
