Default P0300 code without check engine light!

Hi Guys,

I did heads and cam swap a month ago and the car run fine. However, I checked for codes and I got P0300( random misfire). I changed plugs and wires but its there yet. I noticed that at high RPM I get a whistle sound, I think from back of the intake. Is the code because a tune that it supposed to tell the engine there is a cam or something like that? Did anyone have the same issue? BTW, the heads are trick flow and the cam is not that big!

Thank you

You may need to do a crank position relearn. It solved my P0300. I used EFI live.

yea bro you have to mess with the tune because of the cam the motor thinks its detecting misfires i think what is happening is the tune was just set to not set check engine light for p0300 but its detecting the error

A whistle sound use to be/could be associated with a vacuum leak. Not sure if it happens too much anymore though.
