Driving Gloves

Never, but I live in California. I was just in Michigan on business and noticed a lot of people wearing them. I have never seen anybody wearing them here in 40 years of driving.

Only in the winter when it's ten below zero, in my daily driver, not my Vette...
#5
Only when it's cold, and the ones I'm wearing aren't driving gloves, but cashmere lined for warmth.
#6
When it's warm, I use sunblock.

What would be the need to wear driving gloves on the road?
Track I can understand. Gloves can help with grip while cornering.
But it seems kind of corny to wear gloves while street driving.
Just my .02

The way I look at it, the number one reason is for better grip on the wheel and shifting. The second reason is to protect your leather cover on your steering wheel from degrading from the dirt and natural skin oil from your hands. In other words maintaining your interior cleaner.

DD driving, no, since if so cold that I have to put gloves on, the Vet is not leaving the garage instead.
On the track, yes but that is all about if the car catches on fire with me in it isntead.
Way, way back with wood steering wheel, gloves where worn so you would not sweat the finish off the lacquered steering wheel and to give a better grip on the lacquer finish (wearing out a pair of gloves as way cheaper than having to replace the steering wheel instead).
Now a days with leather conditioners, it just too easy to keep the leather steering wheels in shape instead.

No gloves, no scarf, but occasionally aviators. Can't shake the 1980's completely.
