The new Smokinvette!!
Most of you have probably seen this car before. Was built by one of the website founders of smokinvette. Long story short, this car was wrecked last year and sent off to the scrap yard. Very minor damage. It ended up at my shop here in Colorado, and we wanted to bring it back to the street, but with a few updates in the appearance section.
This was the car years ago when the forum was started
Picture from Fast and Furious 4 film shooting:
Car has no 3rd/4th gear and a light hit in the front end. photos from the INS company.
Got the body all finished up and she looks sweet. Still have to do all the lights and grilles up front. Going with the ZR1 splitter up front as well.
Driveline will be coming out next week for a trans overhaul, and a few more upgrades to push the power over the 1000 mark.
This is where we are at currently. Still am undecided as to what we want to do with the wheels. Currently has the original HRE wheels all in flat black. Really want to know what you all think would go best for a wheel combo as were consider sending these back to HRE for refinishing so please share your opinions!!!
Just wanted to share what we were doing and show off the satin white pearl we put down!

Yep. Stickers look so tacky. Makes it look like more of a ricer indeed. I even hate the look of the state inspection sticker on my windshield that I have to have.

The paint is excellent. Good job on that. The stickers detract from the paint. Wheels are pretty decent with the flat, but shiny black would probably look better. IMO

The car has a very strong visual appeal as is, but we agree that removing the stickers would further improve the overall look. What about some black chrome wheels?
We trudge on.

The car was originally built with donated parts thus the decals.
Looks great, good to see your bringing it back.
Any idea if his brothers black C6 is still around?

Loose the decals and it would look much better.

Maybe it's time to do something a little different and bring the car to the new era with one of HRE's brand spanking new S2 Series wheels.
