Default Going from a 2008 c6 corvette to a 2015 mustang gt

Ok guys I need help asap. I've owned my c6 corvette base for a year and I ran into a problem. It started smelling like gas and we took it to the nearest dealership to get it fixed and they would charge us to fix it but the problem would still be there. After three times we really got tired of bringing it to them and I started looking at a 2015 mustang 5.0 or a 15 Camaro ss or even a challenger or charger (like a 2012 cause that's around my price range and don't want a r/t. The service was VERY poor so I don't really want a Chevy anymore. GM or whatever idk is gonna call us soon to tell talk about it to us. U guys probably heard of the problem of a gas smell cause I seen some people complaining. I just want to get rid of it so I'm looking at like it said above a 15 gt. What do u guys think? I haven't test drove a 15 gt but my sister has a 14 mustang gt and it's pretty good. The vette was my daily driver and this mustang will be too. I believe I will miss the vette but what do u guys think cause I really still want to pull the trigger on a stang. Thanks. still love corvettes but any thoughts would be appreciated don't want this to become a boxing match lol

Try another dealership or a corvette repair shop. The fuel pump could be faulty. Good luck with your decision

There have been a number of posts about the gas smell. If you have paid your money, your car should be repaired properly.

How are you going to sell a car that smells like gasoline?

Thanks for the quick response but the warranty (ally major guard) have told us, get a kick out of this, we cannot now go to anywhere but that dealership and replacing the fuel pump is a bit expensive especially since they won't cover it I don't want to put anymore money into this car. Even though I love my car to death, I just want to get rid of it. Should I go for the stang? Ik it's ford and whatnot but the style of the car has grown on me so I'm thinking it's just saying that I need to pull the trigger lol. Also a mustang is a bit for practical than a vette and won't have to worry about scrapping as much lol so what u think?

since we are talking lawsuits for safety hazards we might get an incentive on the car so idk how this is gonna go lol plan is to get them to fix it and get it

Hello, if I understand correctly, you took it to a dealer and you said they "would charge us". So what exactly did they do each of the 3 times - I'm lost here.

Get the Regional service manager involved not the dealerships but GM's.

It could take some time to get through this too.

Selling with smell isn't good and trade in is going to cost.

Best to get the car proper first then decide.

ok, they first changed fuel pump hose and charged us 600 dollars for the hose, second time they supposedly changed the vent solenoid and charged us 200 dollar deductible. The third time they said they said they was gonna fix it again but we would have to pay ANOTHER 200 dollar deductible. If u didn't fix the problem the first time why I have to pay for it to get fixed again, and they wanted to play us dumb like at first we didn't even smell a gas smell, then told us to let it sit out in the sun and let the gas evaporate, then one guy told us that all corvettes, even the 2016 smell like gas naw buddy I'm not that dumb. It doesn't have to take rocket science to know if it smells like gas, it's a problem

Yea, we filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the federal trade commission, were also waiting on that

Before I bought my C6 I was dead set on a Mustang GT. I then test drove a few C6's and knew that the Mustang does not compare in anyway. It feels like a truck, its high off the ground, it has useless rear seats, its slower and just the overall feel make me think I was in a rental. Good luck.

If you are alright with all of those negatives get a Challenger SRT. I prefer that much more than the Mustang.

Can you tell if the smell is coming from the front or back of the car? I have an 08 and I never smell gas even inside a closed garage.

It's coming from around the left wheel, but it is REALLY strong from time to time, to the point we have to bag it out of the garage cause my dog is in there and we don't want to kill him.

Lol I feel ya, cause my sister has a 2014 5.0 mustang with just a roush axle back exhaust and it sounds good, it brings a lot of attention, but it's no vette lol. I really don't want to leave a corvette (thought about a grand sport or another base) but I thought a mustang would be just a little more practical than my car cause at least their is a backseat and a Camaro is even worse in the backseat department lol but gotta love
