Default Gumby Wheels?

I think my wheels are "Gumby", but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm that they are for me? Sorry about the noobish question, I just need clarification so I know if I should sell them for new wheels or just keep them and powder coat them black.
Thanks,
Nikko

As said, yes they are Gumby wheels. If I were you I would sell those and buy black wheels. Then you can get any style wheel you want, unless you like the Gumby style, then by all means have those powder coated.

I thought they were, but I just wanted to make sure. I planned on selling them for $500, I guess that would have been a major steal. Thank you all!

Is a set of Gumbys worth more than $500? I have them too (chrome) and didn't know they had much value. I don't plan to sell, but it's nice to know.

When I did a quick search, I saw that prices fluctuate. I suppose it's really up to condition, miles, and how much you're willing to spend on the wheels.

Not foolish at all. Gumby was a Claymation character and his legs were shaped exactly like your wheel's vertical supports. His buddy was Pokey I believe, but the poor horse never had the fame of having a Vette wheel named after him.

I bought a set of polished "wagon wheels" for $400 as mine get older I'm looking for another set of polished or chrome, and this is the bench mark price I look for. if you can get $500 for your Gumby's take it.

How many miles on them and what condition are they in? I might be interested if you sell them.

I can't pm you, so my apologies for telling you to check your PM. 23k and rising. Minor curb scratch on the front right wheel. That's their only flaw. I leave for California and I won't be back til the 27th. If I can pm before then, you'll be the first person I notify. If I'm unable to, then take a look at the for sale thread. You'll probably be able to find the listing.

Noob question...are gumby wheels preferred over non-gumby and why?

Purely a matter of esthetics.

Thank you. Good to know that it is essentially one's preference.

To have something "new" and sell more cars...as are most of the improvements from '05 to the end.

If those are "Gumby" wheels...then the absolute worst looking Gumby wheels look better than the absolute best set of black wheels. Black wheels are for spare tires.
