Another custom hood
Progress pictures on my custom made hood vent designed specifically for c6 with eforce superchargers. Basically a spinoff the camaro vent with a more flat design bc of the SC. Should help extract heat from engine bay. Testing next at the track,,

To each their own I guess. By far not my taste...however you still did a good job on it.
I guess I see it as why spend so much on our vette and supercharger and supporting mods....then go ricer and cut holes in your car.

GM did it first with the with the plastic window on the ZR1 except it doesn't let heat out.

I applaud your creativity and willingness to do the mod... but i don't like it. It's too.... two dimensional. I understand why its so flat (because of the supercharger) but it's just not as visually appealing as the camaro vent. Good job though and I hope you like it!

the more mods u add to engine the more heat it generates..really going after the functional aspect if it...letting heat out of the engine compartment to help control other issues with these superchargers....ever see race car hoods?....and i know is not for everyone.....

yeah,,couldn't do much though..i only have like 3/4" before it hits the SC cover...i looked at the trackspec and they wouldn't fit....underneath you just see the mesh and currently the rivets..I plan to either cut the under hood felt blanket or paint the whole underside in black to help conceal the cut and rivets...

So far in 95 deg is staying below 194 deg during commute and lunch break. This is 4-5 deg lower temp than before. This may not be big deal for NA cars but is huge in roots type blowers that pack heat at idle. Im also noticing that temp picks up when stopped but drops rapidly the moment the car is moving. So apparently new flow is working. So far so good. Unrelated,,I did get thumbs up from a tijuana guy.

I like the idea, I even like the Camaro scoops on these cars.
If it where mine I would paint the rivets black to let them blend into the boarder, and I have always thought the back of the scoop should be wider than the front to match the flow of the hood.
I applaud you for getting the cutter out and making it your own when so many are afraid to make a single mod that does not exist in a catalog

and yes i know there are many that dont like custom made parts.....i love inventing or reinventing stuff...been doing for over 15 years with all my cars......most ppl dont care or maybe have no idea what it takes to do custom stuff - some know...it is very gratifying imo...I wish everybody would try it once.....i like the process, i learn alot on the way...for example these vents were first developed from card board then to a CAD dwg where many changes where created and from there to the waterjet cuter..then prepped painted and vinyl wrapped to match the rest of my accents....just knowing they are working and look half way decent is very rewarding.....at least several of you appreciate the effort....do like to hear both sides though,,
i will show the rain covers next..
