What kind of exhaust is this?
Hello,
I am considering purchasing a vette from another state. I had the dealer send me pictures and videos and also the idle on the exhaust. The vette is a z51 but does not have NPP. However the sound of the exhaust seemed to have the same effect. I have attached the picture and it does not look like the standard vette exhaust. Any one can help me determine if this will have the same effect as the NPP exhaust?
Anything I should watch out for buying remotely?

I don't recognize those tips but I'd have to see the car and drive the car before I could ever make an offer on it. I've always bought my Vettes locally because face it, you can't walk down the street without tripping over them. At least it's that way around here.

Agreed. I am specifically looking atomic orange within a certain budget and hence the challenge. I didn't recognize the tip either so was curious. I am skeptical too but perhaps someone on the forum can offer to try the vette for me?

Just something to think about : My son and his wife moved from NY city to SF and had trouble registering their cars into Cal. I've also seen other posts on here referencing buying out-of-state and the trouble getting them to pass emissions in Cal. I would question what other mods were done to this car and what you would need to spend to get it certified in Cal. This is just my thought.

All the cars I own are northeast certified. I know some come 50 state certified; mine all say NE. I don't know the year or model you're looking at or which state it was first registered in. Is the dealer honest and does he know what he's looking at? Can you contact the previous owner for info? I'm not a mechanic but I know what CAI looks like and if the catalytic converters are missing or hi flow. Depending on the years ; some had two sets of cats or an extra set of mufflers and my guess would be that after market exhaust is not legal in Cal. These are strickly my thoughts and meant as a warning for you to check on before spending your hard earned money.

Cat back systems are legal in Cali, they do not effect emissions. It will need factory manifolds and cats.
If your car has a Cold sir intake, I have a factory one you can borrow to pass smog.
Registering an out of state car requires a minimum of 7500 miles on it.
