C6 FOB Programming
I had a situation where BOTH FOBs didn't work. I bought a new FOB. I went to this forum and found the programming instructions. I used the long method and it worked perfectly the first time. When I received the new FOB and went to program it, I was unable to get the car into programming mode at all. FOB was placed where it should, windows down, turned key 5 times in the trunk keyslot.. NOTHING.
The tech at ZIP's in Mechanicsville, VA said that if you do the programming multiple times that method stops working and it has to be done at the dealers using a machine. Can anyone confirm or give me other ideas how to get the car into programming mode?
Fortunately I have a FOB that works but I'll be screwed if I lose that FOB. Bless you all.

Other than make sure that the car is in reverse if you have a manual, is the only advice I can offer, as I had this issue trying to get the programming feature to initiate for me.

Never hear of anybody having issues programing using the long method....are you sure you did it right?
Since you already have one fob programed why don't you use the short method to program the second?

First off the tech at zips is wrong. Second I would try shooting some WD40 into the key hole and maybe if it turns easier it will go to program mode. Third, and I know this is beside the point now, but I'd bet $1 there was nothing really wrong with the 2 original fobs.

Yep, I've never heard of such a programming limit before.
