305 Nittos/MT on Zo6 repos? Fitment issues
Hey all,
When I got the car she had 305/30/19 Hancook Ventus V12s on the rear. Mounted on z06 repos(yes I know these rims are not ideal)
The V12s fit without issue and only slightly rubbed the outside if I was seriously seriously hammering the car in the corners. Very rare even for me who drives like a nut.
One of the tires got a bad puncture so the tire shop gave me credit for that tire.
I wanted to put something sticky on the rear and was going to go with some ET streets. Shop said they had a set of NT01s in stock and i have read about folks using those instead of MTs. Why not right?
It was pouring down rain when I took her home so I did not look it over to closely. At home in the garage man do they poke out. Very afraid of screwing up tires and quarters!
I drive this car a lot! Do not care about tire wear, but care about rubbing. So here is the question.
Anyone mount 305/35/19 MT ET streets to z06 repos? Do they stick out this far? What to do? What to do? What to do? Might as well ask the internet where opinions are many.
Anyone want a good deal on a set of NT01s with 3 rain miles on them?

OK humor me on this . From what I can gather by doing an online search of Nitto tires, the overall width of your tires appear to be about an inch wider than the stock 285-35-19's Goodyears. The tread is about an inch and a half wider, but here I am more concerned with the total width since that is what is sticking out from your fender. So, with the overall width only being an inch wider, that would mean about 1/2 inch per side. I just went into my garage to look at the stock back tires on my car, and they are about 1/4 inch inboard from the outside of the fender. That would mean with your tires on my wheels, they would stick out about 1/4 inch. Yours appear to stick out a bit more than that. My question is: Are you sure you have the correct offset in your aftermarket wheels? Or are your wheels wider than stock? JMHO

It's the wheels. Do a search on here for 305's, lots of people running them, they do not stick out that much on base wheels. Also, Nitto's run small compared to just about every other brand, 305 Mt's would stick out even worse. Last, NT01's do not hook like Mt's.

I had 305 Hankook Ventus v12s on it before this. They were OK. The Nitto itself seems to bulge out a good 3/4 inch from the lip of the rim.
Yeah I know they are not a dig racing drag radial, mainly looking to cut down on the spin on the shift to second. Anything has to be better than the Hankooks were.

305/35/19 Mickey Thompson's fit perfectly on the stock C6 19 x 10 rim with no issues.
