Just like you need a different front clip for the wider fenders, the ZR1 splitter would not fit

You have to buy the ZR1 splitter made specifically for the Base C6's. The OEM ZR1 splitters are wider

Default C7 Carbon.

I have the C7 Carbon front splitter and rear extended spoiler and the fit
is very good. These are made for the standard width C6. I have been very pleased now for three years.

FYI on the splitter, they recommend you put the fascia support inside the bumper because the downforce of the splitter can deform/crack your front bumper if you drive "fast" i don't know what the magic number is but i've seen some gnarly pictures.

The car in that pic has twin turbos and was trying to set a top speed record.

thanks, and i think my point still stands that at high speeds the bumper fascia can/will deform without internal support. they make/sell the support for a reason.
