Car show display stand.
Ok after my last car show I have come to the realization that I need a display stand. I'm looking for some ideas if anyone care to post pics.

I made it out of PVC pipe and painted it blue. Also put velcro on upper part of sign and pvc pipe where they meet to keep sign in place. If the wind starts blowing, just put something on it to keep it from moving. Cost about $4. Sign was pretty expensive though. It also comes apart in a couple of places (no glue) so its easy to stow.

Oh I'm subscribed to this thread, in the big scheme of things these signs get up on price real quick. I thought about putting a sign up front and one out back detailing those specific areas of the build, and a third one about the middle of the car maybe near a door with general info on the car and it's humble owner.

This is the set up I use when I display my ride. The sign is 3D I don't think you can do better than this IMHO.
Just run your front tire over the base and no amount of wind can blow it over damaging you car or someone else.

Just Google Car show stand or car show boards. There are quite a few out there to choose from. Some can get very pricy especially if you go with the 3-D boards (See PokerPro's Post) which can run several hundred dollars. Happy googling.

You rarely see display boards at the outside shows that we have around here.

Here in Nebraska, In the Ne vette club anyways. If you have two cars that are tied to be the best of class or best of show the signage or any other display Items that would set one apart from the other will determine the winner. I'm thinking I need to start thinking about a sign also.

I use a "Remove before flight" banner tag that I hang from one of the hood latches. They're used on aircraft for the points on the plane the pilot is supposed to inspect prior to flight. It makes for a good eye catcher as it's flapping in the wind.

This was generated using Microsoft Word, printed by Kinko's on outdoor laminate and placed on a tripod. The window sticker is in a dual glass frame so it appears to be floating and that frame is hooked to the tripod shelf that holds the sign.
A picture of the Silver Pearl hood stripe is the background for the information that was printed in white letters with a thin black outline. The other information on the white background was done in a dark blue color to match the interior.
In this picture, the tripod legs are lowered so everything stayed out of the wind. When the tripod legs are fully extended the sign is at chest height.
Crappy photo as the sun was back-lighting everything but you can see the shadow of the tripod through the core-plast sign.
Total invested about $70.
