I've heard that there are Vettes out there that have the notation "DRIVEN IN THE RAIN" in bold letters on the title...

Yup, three kinds of title for Vettes...Normal, Salvage and DRIVEN IN THE RAIN.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can finance a vehicle that has a salvage or rebuilt title.

Salvage no...cannot even register or tag it. Rebuilt yes, but some financial institutions choose not too or lend a decreased value. Some do not make a distinction.

UPDATE: I went by the local Chevy dealership and ordered all my parts today. They had the lower aluminum radiator cradle and inner fender in stock so now we can get it on the frame machine soon and make sure everything is straight. Getting excited.

Options or opinions?

RPI has some good mods but if you are talking about fenders or other car ' body parts', I'd stick with OEM parts.

I bought all new OEM for the body. I was looking at splitters, skirts, and diffusers from them. I ended up ordering an ABS splitter as to not crack it on parking curbs and a few CF interior accessories from them. I'll update on speed of shipping and quality of parts once I get them.

I have a carbon fiber ZR1 style front splitter from RPI. It is very good quality and fit. I had carbon fiber side skirts as well but decided against using them even though the quality was very good. (Just a personal decision)

The rest of the parts came in to the dealership and I delivered them over to the shop yesterday. She was already sitting in the shop, but they had not started on her yet. Apparently there are a couple in front of her so should be later this week, and since they have all the parts on hand, there should be no delays.

I am going to blackout the lights again on this one and am looking for a rear spoiler I want...several I like, but not yet found THE one yet.

If you don't mind spending a little more $$$ and want something that is a little different then you might consider an SS Vettes Extreme ZR1 spoiler.

Here's mine painted Cyber Grey:

Which ones?

The first ones are 360 Forged Concave Split 5.

The last photo is Vossen wheels, but they are discontinued.

Hey guys, I know it's been awhile since an update. I life has been a bit Crazy. My Mom was diagnosed with cancer, had a heart attack 3 days later, they did stents and then we found out the cancer was a super aggressive variety, so much so that a week after the original diagnosis and just a couple days post stents, they opted to perform a complete hysterectomy. Thankfully she is recovering well, but had been staying at my house during her initial recovery period. So, I have finally gotten back to my GS project.

Went by the body shop today to deliver a new ($300 ) front rebar. Although she only took a glancing blow, the rebar was bent enough we really needed to replace it while it was on the frame machine getting everything checked. No suspension damage or alignment issues, although there is a bent outer tie rod so I am assuming there was front tire impact...hence the blown sidewall.

As you can see, there is no vertical push and the horizontal seems to be limited to the rebar. Once we get it cut off, we will know more and can correct anything found. Then we can get the new rebar welded back onto the frame rails and start the reassembly process.

Thank you. My parents found out about the cancer on a Thursday, but did not know enough details to tell me yet. That Saturday I delivered the Vert to her new owner via a 10 hour round trip. We had barely gotten home and to bed when my Dad called me from the hospital with her having the heart attack. I will have to admit to a very stressful week.
