Both FOBs not always opening the doors anymore
2011 GS (A6) / 14,000 miles .... purchased new by me
Strange thing happening with this car now ... I go out to the car and neither of the doors will open most of the time with the FOB in my hand and when I squeeze the door's touch pad. It don't make any difference which door I try to open, or which FOB I use (I have 2 FOBs)
The batteries in both FOBS are good.
However, the FOBs both work great when I press the Rear Hatch-open button ... opens the hatch every time.
If I press the door unlock button on the FOB, after 3 or 4 tries, the door does finally unlocks and then I can open it.

Since both FOBs have good batteries, and both doors are effected with this problem, I am thinking it must be a problem with the part on the car that senses the FOB .... (But the car senses that I am pushing the Hatch-open button, so that seems strange)
Any idea as to what sensor / part in my GS that might be malfunctioning ?
Thanks,

BTW ... There are times when I can just go out to the car with the FOB in my hand or pocket and the doors will open as soon as I squeeze the door's touch pad, but most of the time I have to squeeze the touch pad 5 or 6 times, or push the FOBs door unlock button 3 or 4 times to get it to work at all.

MH663 ... Thanks for the info. I will do a Google search and see if I can find instructions on how to clean the contacts on the door pads (hopefully with photos)
It just seems strange that both doors got this problem at the exact same time ... In fact, the passenger door has been rarely used that much since the car was new.

Well, I found a great video on Youtube that shows the whole procedure on a C6.
Easy Peasy ... Took all of about 45 minutes to do both of them.
Works like a charm now!
There was a lite film of 'green' colored corrosion on both the drivers and the passenger door pad contacts (Florida weather ?)

Pull the key out of the end ... Pry with a little screwdriver in the exposed end of the FOB after the key has been removed ... That will open the two halves far enough that you can then just put your fingernail between the two halves and pop them apart.
Easy

It always helps to have the fob warm when opening it...minimizes the chance of cracking the plastic. Also, the fob function starts going downhill long before the battery is dead. I've found that at 2.80 volts, there is serious impairment of fob function. If this battery was in a flashlight, you might not even notice the light getting dim but in these fobs, 2.80 is really low.

Makes a world of difference.

I recently replaced the batteries in both fobs but #2 fob would open the door but wouldn't start the car. I checked the battery with a voltmeter and it read .2 Volts. Just becuase it's new doesn't mean it's good. FYI they were both Duracells.

Last fall my 2011 also had this problem, but it got worse, eventually not recognizing the fobs at all, and sometimes giving very strange messages. Replaced fob batts first, some problems went away but not all. Next the car's battery. Woopee. Everything back to normal.
