Very sorry for the lack of updates!
We're waiting for the RP to be finished, told it will finish either this week or early next.
We'll post images as soon as possible.

GUY'S an GAL'S i went thru this deal when a member of LVC Lincoln vs Caddillac an FORD cut production of the hids for the Mark Viii 93-98 try an find a replacement lens an it will be top dollar. Then main problem with them was the reflector coating flakeing off the inside had to put them in an oven to remove the cover then apply chrome tape to the inside of the housing. an then seal the lens back on. still have a MARK in the Garage it is a different animal. But like it the vette is going to be blind unless we do something now. this is my fourth Vett. an will put my set in the bank. stay safe an have fun. JD

once again an apology, we had a server corruption and of course as luck would have it - happened during the Black Friday marathon sales time during Thanksgiving!
But we're at least thankful that we are finally after 5 days back up and running.
Indeed.
Let's do this update now, currently the RP is being built for only 1 side (some of you may say why only one side?).
The reality is an RP is about $2500 to do, so instead of wasting money, we'll build one then do a mirror image of it. Makes the most sense.
Again, we're asking the factory for faster updates but for now, the plan is either today or next week to be finished.
We're still planning for end of January, but that may push back a week or two. We'll keep y'all posted as best we can (barring any PC failures of course

The prototype has finally been completed.
It's much better than we expected. We've got a scheduled test fit next Wednesday/Thursday.
Some comments about the current prototype, they are going to be called "Zen6 Lenses" to differentiate these from anything made by anyone else. They will mimic but not duplicate the factory ones and they will likely have very small etched branding in the corner - we haven't yet decided exactly where but we want to keep it relatively unobtrusive unless you specifically look for it. We though we were going to get only 1 side, but we got a pleasant surprise
Once we make final approval on the lenses, we expect 30-45 day production and ready to ship Mid January.
We currently have 35 pre-ordered, 13 KS backers that have their names in there, and 2 pending commitments for 10 lenses + 1 commitment for more from another vendor.
All pre-orders from now moving forward will have 1 of 2 options before final production.
Option 1:
$100 Deposit to either Umnitza. $100 deposit is non-refundable but guarantees you a full year at the current price of $250. You don't have to buy immediately once we get them, but you will be given 1 full year from date of deposit to decide to go ahead and buy them or not. You will however not be given priority on the first batch as compared to those that put the full deposit down.
Option 2
$250 Pre-Order on Umnitza. $250 entitles you to be first in line for the first batch of units arriving.
--
Shipping is extra - though inexpensive
30 Day Refund from date of receipt, not date of purchase if you are not satisfied with the quality of the product upon receipt.
And finally, some photos:
SURPRISE

Some minor updates.
We have received the prototypes, and judging by the detailed comparison, they are virtually indistinguishable except for the GM/DOT related markings from the originals...see photos.
The last photo is particularly interesting because the small "line" will be preserved that is similar to the original lenses. However, we're still exploring how to add a feature that we would like to see in these.
We just spoke to the factory and they said that the prototypes are finished and input directly into the CAD, there will be no further delay of sending the prototypes back for production unless we add those features we want. Once we test fit (one of the next 5 days depending on our tester's availability) we will post pictures.
The prototype does not have any UV coating on it (internal or external) so while some of you may pressure us into selling it to you (it is after all a $1700 prototype) we will not do so because it will yellow and fade within 1 year of use.
Finally, if ANYONE is in the bay area and wants to validate that we're not just blowing smoke up anyone's butt, come on over and see them for yourselves...

Will customers need to install these lenses themselves, or will you offer a service to do this for them, or both? Sending out ready to bolt in refurbished headlights with a core charge refunded upon returning the old headlights would be great, if at all possible.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (and many other holidays, Hannuka, etc.)
We have always offered the service and will continue to do so. But by "this service" we mean you send us your headlights, we remove the old lenses and use new sealant, then send you back your lights.
We do not do core charges with refurbished lights, your lights are what we will use.
Not yet, we should have the test lenses installed onto the lights and then once the factory gets our go ahead we'll have a better timeline.
Thank you for the update.
