Clock with navigation
I recently purchased a 2009 Vette with navigation. I don't care about the navigation as it is useless but the clock is always off by one hour. I have reset it and checked off daylight saving time as we are still in DST and it is fine until I shut the car off. When I restart it is off by an hour again. It is one hour behind. Is there a trick to keeping it on the correct time?

Sounds like it is might be confused by what time zone you are in (which it should not be) ... what time zone does it say you are in (the clock adjust menu should tell you).
The other option is to use the "no GPS" option int he clock adjust menu ... it should simply stay at whatever you set it to (rather than resetting to GPS time ...).
Curiosity, does the nav unit indicate a good GPS signal on the main nav screen?

useless was too strong a term. The newer Chevy MyLink is better. You need to load a dvd for your part of the world. You need to select the area you are in. Any smart phone works faster and is usually up to date.

If you use the memory points as a destination, it is the best way to use it. The one in my 2006 works very well, and has got me there and back without any issues for each and every 80K miles of our road trips.
Also, the clock in my navigation stays at whatever time I set it at. I don't use EST, as I'm in AST, which the Nav doesn't have an option for.

That's the biggest Plus for the OEM Nav. It does indeed work very well, but it has a learning curve on how to use it properly.

My '13 changed time zones randomly and switched sources, lost station presets, etc. when I bought it. Fortunately it still had some warranty left and my local dealer replaced the head unit when I got it home.
I don't care what anyone says about the NAV, it sucks. It won't take perfectly valid street names even though it will display them when I drive down them. It says my work street number doesn't exist even though it's been there for 40 years. It frequently gets the direction of the last turn wrong, says left when the destination is right. I know I'm dyslexic but not that bad! I even bought the update disc this year, total waste of money. And that's just the facts, nothing about the crappy user interface or antiquated looking display. So it displays turns on the HUD, big deal since I have to turn off the G meter, the best part of the HUD.

So true. The only reason for defense of this system (psychologically) is to make one feel better about their ownership...and maybe wearing GM colored glasses. Does it work? Yes? But it was antiquated when it came out, and is so user unfriendly, that to defend it is frankly silly. I do use it on trips, but my wife backs it up with the much more advanced and accurate system on most phones. I prefer not to mess up the clean look of the dash area with suction cups or ram mounts, therefore I use the GM Nav. But holy jib-jab, it is just plain bad.
If it was a ball park knock out, there wouldn't have been several GM sponsored seminars defending it and teaching folks how to use it, and it would probably still be in production today.....ha ha. The fact it made it nine years is baffling. That part of the design team should be tarred and featherd.

Once you learn how to use the nav it works very well and has a ton if information, but you have to learn how to use it, and that's the problem with most who say they don't like it.
It contains a lot of informaton. I spent several hours learning how to use the one in my 2013 and use it all the time without problems.
As LV2TOUR indicated using memory points is the best way to program it.

The OEM nav system in my ZR1 is junk. So is the OEM nav system in 2013 MB 450GL. Both take forever to enter a new destination and often don't recognize street names. Waze is far superior and it's free. I can find and enter an obscure destination in seconds using Waze and the traffic congestion rerouting feature is getting better all the time.
