Default NPP Exhaust Installed

Ok, a couple of months ago I bought a used set of NPP's off of a member here for a great price. They were off off a 2008 and a direct install on my 2006. For whatever reasons, I kept putting the install off...leaving for a trip and not wanting to mess with any changes to the car, busy with work, grass to mow, etc. It just kept getting pushed to the back burner. Well, Friday I took it over to a friends garage who has a lift and had them on in 20 minutes. All I can say is WOW, it sounds awesome! Right now they are wide open and this winter I will install an NPP in a Box. Why, I have no clue... I can't imagine a time when I would want them close. My gas mileage may go way down for a while, but I can't help myself from wanting to here it make sweet noise. I'm a little giddy right now if you can tell.

My wife and I like the sound as well. I do however close mine on the interstate, the drone gets to you after awhile.

Went down to Lowes to get a part to fix the toilet in the spare bathroom; bought the wrong part. Didn't care, back in the corvette for a return trip listening to that symphony of 8 cylinders.

I will definitely install the NPP in a Box to have the option. I don't want any regrets since we take a number of long trips. I have 3 planned for next year already.

I bought NPP's for my 07 in January 08 when you could get them from GM parts. I also purchased the "NPP in a box". Here we are nearing 2017 and my NPP in a box is STILL in the box. Never installed it because they will always be open...maybe some day I will want to close them......NOT. Have fun.

Being able to quiet the NPP exhaust is the benefit of owning an NPP system.

You obviously do not take long trips in the car as the drone gets old after about an hour. Additionally, its nice to be able to quiet the exhaust if you want to have a conversation with a passenger or not irritate your neighbors when coming home late.

I don't take long trips in cars...I don't care about passengers and last but not least, I don't care if my neighbors get irritated. My 07 will be 10 years old on January 2. It has about 6,400 miles on it...noise is not an issue for me. I have other vehicles that are "quiet".

Don't care if the neighbors get irritated?....hahaha. You might care next time you go out and someone has keyed your car because you have zero concern for your neighbors.

Don't give some jerk a reason to do that...ten seconds of quiet time coming down the street isn't going to kill you. Just my free advice, and that might be all it is worth.
