My car with intake and header was only 1.5mph faster in the quarter mile without a tune so just those mods without a tune wont do all too much. And some cars are faster than others. When I first got my car it was turd slow. Like I lost to my buddies ls2 c6 by about 6 cars.

There's a pretty simple way to determine if it's the driver or the car. Switch cars and see who wins in the same place you made the run the first time.
