I have no doubt they were trying to rip me off.
I have now been driving the car for 2 days and it's averaging
198/205 with no loss of coolant. You can't go from u need a
Radiator and I drive the car 2 days without any issues. They seen
Corvette and saw $$$$$ signs. It wasn't the first time for me.

Corvette Tax!!!
Find a good honest speed shop. Talk the local corvette clubs.
Even OEM parts are double the cost.
I went to the stealerships to get an AC delco part and it was double the cost. BTW they didn't even have it in stock. It will take a week. Went to parts authority and they had it and for half the price!!

I would venture to say that less than 10% of dealership mechanics nationwide are competent in repairing vehicles. They are overpaid parts replacers. If you want to find a "mechanic", you're going to have to go to a speed shop.

I would still want to see the reported problem for myself. A dealership should not have a problem with showing you the damage and the leak.
I was just thinking back on a time I was in the service department waiting area, and the service adviser told me the wiper blades needed to be replaced. I couldn't remember the last time I had inspected them. I thought I could take care of it myself; but since the car was there anyway, I might as well have them do it. Then I noticed the service advisers were telling everybody they needed new wiper blades, and everyone went for it.

I'd just replaced the wiper blades about two months prior and they were in perfect condition.
Of course, this same dealer wanted to charge me $1500 for a flywheel...

Sorry but this is not the job a flat rate guy would pick to rip you off. Flat rate mechanics get paid on labor only no parts. The MO for a rip off is labor intensive jobs with low parts cost. Radiator is an expensive part drives up the price too much. He'd rather that $2k be in his pocket not the parts dept.
She went in for an oil change and when they noticed excessive front tire wear they started stacking other stuff beyond the $440 for tires and a $130 alignment, on to the estimate that totaled $4447 and required 2 days to complete.
Meanwhile, she was in the showroom looking at a new SUV and the salesman offered her $4000 trade for her '08 sight unseen.
The next day, I changed a mis-diagnosed front wheel hub ($63) in an hour, which was the real cause of tire wear. She got the exact same tires from Discount Tire for $330 and a $97 alignment. The indie shop that did the alignment checked over the full list from the Caddy dealer and said nothing else was necessary.
$4447 Dealer price that didn't include the bad wheel hub, which meant the problem would quickly reoccur.
-$600 to fix the tire issue, which included $110 for my labor that was free to her.
$3847 overcharge, which is why they get called "Stealerships"

[QUOTE=HOXXOH;1593341377]So you mean something like a $650 quote from the local Cadillac dealer for 6 spark plugs for the wife's Caddy or the $1281 to replace 2 control arm bushings or $810 for a differential bushing
Exactly. That's an estimate that I would look at real hard. All 3 of those repairs are labor intensive with low parts cost. He would make his day on your car alone.

Of course, the wife didn't get any work done there. She also won't buy here next car there either.

Most dealerships don't make their money on new car sales, they make it in the service department. You'd be surprised at the percentage of consumers who think the car has to be repaired at a high cost dealership. Also, many owners think that's the best place and most trustworthy. I guess if people want to throw their money away....their choice.
