Default Question about Lloyd floor mats

My 05 C6 has the post mounting system for the floor mats. Lloyd used to accommodate this mount by having a plastic tab riveted to the mat that snapped over the post and was totally invisible when the mat is installed. The problem is that these plastic tabs eventually break, which is what's happening to the set that was in my car when I got it. Does anyone know if Lloyd still uses this half-a$$ mounting system, or have they gone to the OEM style post mount now for new mats. Thanks.

I got mine about a year ago and they still had the same plastic tabs. Mine haven't broken yet.

I had an 05 and did not want to spend lots of money on it. I did not plan to keep it long term. I got a set of Lloyds mats for 09 and up. I mapped out the 05 tabs and cut two holes in the mats. I used the stock mat "donuts" and fit them in the holes. I then hot glued them from the bottom side. This could work for you. They looked good and worked.

I got mine for the C6 less than a year ago. They have the post type fastener like you say. As I remember had to watch which mats I got to make sure they have the post type and for a C6. The pictures were not always correct looking.

I'm surprised they haven't corrected the way they make their mats for the early C6s. They use a proper post and grommet for the C7 mats, so it's not like they don't have the capability to do it by now.

So you're saying yours don't have those ridiculous tabs that fasten to the posts in the car?

I just got a 2007 C6 (early). They changed from the button posts to actual hooks (better system) in mid-year 2007 production. The answer to your question is that yes, you can order mats with the button posts (half-a$$ mounting system) from Lloyd's, but you have to specify that you have 2005 - 2007 (early) mountings for the mats.

I've been misunderstood. I don't think the post mounting system is half-a$$. What I find half-a$$ is Lloyd's plastic tabs that you have to snap on the posts rather than the hard plastic grommet as used on the OEM mats. That's what I'm trying to find out: Has Lloyd done away with the plastic tabs and switched to the OEM mounting grommets?

Sorry, you are correct - - I did misunderstand you. This I don't know; the Lloyd's mats which are in my car came with the plastic tabs. I'm hoping they'll hold up for a while.

The only fasteners I have seen are the Hook that is on the floor and comes up through the mat that just has a plastic? hole in it. The other has a post on the floor that is supposed to snap on the plastic fitting on the mat.

The mat I wanted with the snap on showed the hook hole in the picture of the mat, but said it was for C6. So I had to ask them if the pic was wrong and the mats I wanted to order had the snap on fitting. They did. Worked just like the OEM mat snap that was in my car.
