This looks like a much better deal plus it is a 2008 with all options and z51

10 year-old run flats are not safe regardless of their condition as they become extremely hard and do not grip well at all. 10 year-old "any" tires should be replaced, run-flats or not.

OP

There's no market made with that year and miles so the value depends on how much weight you put on that low miles. Remember, each mile you put on starts converting it to just a used car.

If you value those miles, I'd suggest you agree to the asking if he puts on the tires of your choice. Not just run flats but ALL tires are dangerous at that age. Alternatively, offer asking minus the cost of new feet.

You could offer $26,000 and see if they bite.
My harmonic balancer was replaced at 14k miles. Not sure if the first owner had this done or the dealer in preparation to resell it. It therefore could have been preventative but I kind of doubt it.

Personally, if I were looking at a used car, I'd feel more comfortable with one that had something over 15K miles and/or an average of at least 3K miles per year. I'd want something past the infancy period where most defects raise up their ugly heads and that had consistent use rather than long periods of stagnation. Of course, I'd want to drive it rather than store it to avoid larger numbers on the odometer. Then again, I wouldn't marry a 40 year old virgin either. I think that opinion is shared by buckmeister2 a couple posts ago.

I just looked up an '06 convertible with 9K miles and standard equipment on kbb.com and they say that the private party selling price for a vehicle in good condition (excellent is only about 3% of all vehicles) is $25,067. I paid $28,500 two years ago for a standard equipped '09 coupe with 26K on the clock and that was from a dealer. I recommend you press him hard on the price. For his asking price you could probably turn up an '08 or '09 and enjoy the extra power of the LS3.

Bought my 2007 in august 2014 3LT Z51 coupe paid 32500 with 14000 miles on it. In almost perfect condition with brand new goodyear run flats on it. Have had no problems at all since i bought it. Other than the dreaded shifter not wanting to come out of park some times got that fixed under the extended warranty. So i think that 1 is just a tad high but if its exactly what u want color wise etc go for it. Only you have to be happy about what you pay for it no 1 else has to be.

I sold a stick shift 2005 convertible with about 24000 miles last year. I was the second owner, new tires, fully loaded with every possible option. I sold it for $21000. It was listed on Craiglist, Corvette Forum and Ebay for 4 weeks. I was asking $24 and finally sold for $21,500. I'm in Miami. That price for a 2006 seems on the high side. The low miles deserves a premium but not that high. For that money you can get a 2008 or newer with the LS3 engine (30 to 36 extra hp) and many other upgrades. That is what I did. I got a 2008 convertible Z51 and npp, 36 hp doesn't sound like much but they do make a difference, the npp are really awesome (specially with the M2W) and all the other upgrades, it is a much better car. Be patience and keep looking, look outside your immediate area, driving or flying to get a better car at a better price is well worth it. People do it all the time. I'm sure you can find a better deal. My 2 cents. Good luck.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but can you tell me what is the Magnaflow part # ? I went to their website and I can't find anything for $230 / set. I want better sound without paying $1500.00

Thanks to all for your input. I finally got to see the car today. It's one of the cleanest used Corvettes I have seen. It is a 3LT. power top, nav, polished wheels, and auto. He is stuck at 28500 as his lowest price and I think that is too much of a premium to pay. So, unless he will come down some more I will keep looking.
