It's ok
Bought a C7 conv in April last year. The looks were great. Sold it in Nov last year. Bought a 2013 C6 conv in Nov last year.
The C7 just wasn't the car for the wife and I.
BTW, the C6 looks great, too.

I enjoy these threads because eventually someone will always post that people who still have a C6 only have it because they can't afford a C7. Wait for it.
I look at my beautiful 2013 6-speed silver GS 3LT coupe every day and smile. But I still have not warmed up to the look of any C7. In fact, some are pretty unsightly.
Compared to the C6 I'm sure the C7 is a major upgrade. In fact, if someone likes the C7 look they should probably try to get one over a C6 if it in the budget.
But the C6 is still a great platform. I love driving my GS plenty and I'm glad I've got maybe the last of the classically styled Corvettes ever. I'm good.

If you like the look of the C7 then get it. For me personally the Corvette has always been about its curves.
If the C8 or beyond were to get rid of those hard lines and replace them with the smooth curves then I'd be interested in the new ones. Until that day...

^This. The C7 is a great car but i just don't care that much for the styling, not nearly as clean as the C6 and the rear end is awful IMO. It feels like they tried too hard to get some kind of supercar styling and got a little carried away.

Like my 2010 C6 just fine. I haven't warmed up to the C7 body style yet, and probably never will, no flame meant here C7 owners, I just don't like all of the sharp edges & the "transformer" looks

Last Saturday I went to the dealer to have my oil change and I had the opportunity to seat in a C7. I love the looks inside and out. I think it is out of this world ! But once I sat in it, I felt very cramped. Everything was really tight. It really turn me off. So I am keeping my C6 for a while.

I totally understand the sentiments expressed in this thread. Heck, I used to say many of the same things myself, so I know.
That said, I did opt for a new C7 last August after agonizing over whether to try to find a gently used '13 GS or stretch it and get a '14 or '15 used C7. The clincher for me was the deal I got for a new 3LT Z51 2016 model.
Looks are subjective, and like a lot of you guys, that rear-end didn't do much for me, especially before I saw one in person. But when seen with the car as a whole it didn't seem so bad and it started to grow on me. The other clincher was the improved performance. Whoever said that the LS3 could outperform the LT1 in the C7 is misinformed, sorry to say.
Again, the 6th generation Corvette is a beautiful, fast, powerful car....I drove mine for several years so I know. And I'll never have anything bad to say about the C6. But I had an opportunity to move up a little and so I did.

The C7 is fine ... except the rear end/taillights. The back end looks like a Camaro, and the newer Camaros are even more like the C7. If not for that, it'd be a great car. Let's hope they go back to a unique look for the C8.

My favorite body styles for the Vette are the C1 and C6. I like curved styles, and it's been my personal impression that the 1 and 6 cars were the most tasteful. This has nothing to do with mechanical attributes, performance, interior comfort or fitment, etc.
Note: While it's C1 and C6 for me, when it comes to C6's, I really prefer the vert. If it were to be a C7 or nothing, I would be extremely happy but just cheeky enough to want that to be a convertible too, please.

Priorities....financial for many of us:
a) I would take a C7....but still surprisingly happy with my C6 that I have had on the road every week for 10 years and can't imagine a C7 will bring me $35K worth of additional "happiness".
b) My work truck is a 10-year old Jeep. Would a $50k Silverado make me a better worker?
c) I would like $1.2 million in the bank so I don't have to work when I am 70.
Priorities.

I recently bought my first Corvette. Z51. I bought within my means. Love this F'ing car. I feel I hit a sweet spot. C5 Z06 405HP. C7 Stingray/GN 460HP. What is not to love about 436HP for $22k. I love all these cars and to each their own but MY car is awesome

i like the c7 interior cockpit feel, it reminds me some of how my c4's felt, i missed that in my c5's and c6's they seem to have more wiggle room in the seats not the wrapped up feeling in the older styles. the back end of the c7's like someone else says reminds me of a camero. to start a new thread about something that has been brought up a few times is fine, you may not have seen it when it was brought up before, the search feature on here leaves a lot to be desired, i usually have to go to my homepage and type in what i want and let it find it on here somewhere then read it without login in. im saying this because i think it is funny when someone complains about this being an old thread brought up many times then goes on to write a story on thread that they have bitc##d about. you win either way because your still getting the only car with its own dedicated museum.

Can't go wrong with either. I love the look of the C6 and C7. The C6 is a bit more under the radar in my opinion. Its going to be tough to sell my 2009 A&A supercharged cyber gray C6/targa top. When I do sell it will be for a C7Z06 for sure.

My biggest 2 issues with my C7 were the DUMB parking brake (give me a damn handle), and the fact that it had a warranty (making me too paranoid to do anything really fun to it).
Car was stellar, best looking car (and stock driving) I've ever owned by far, but not THAT much better than a nice wide body C6 IMO.
My next shall be a C6Z.
Thing was stunning tho...

Is it OK to like both?

Until you sit in one and actually drive it for a few hours, the difference in looks is all that matters. Once you've spent some time in a C7, the C6 becomes, very obviously, "last gen."

my 2 cents:
The c7 looks like a race car. This is both good AND bad. Remember the C4s? When they came out, they looked like race cars with their angular agressive body. The C3 was more curvy and stylish looking. Now, C3 values have gone up while the C4's has plummeted.
I fear the C7 will see the same fate. they are aggressively styled and i (personally) feel the aggressively styled cars will NEVER age as nicely as the classic coupe.
Think... original NSX vs Ferrari Testarossa. The testarossa is way more agressive (and is probably worth more, lol) but from the 80's til now, it has NOT aged well - they look dated as hell.
The C6 is clean, plain lines. The C7 is sharp, agressive, angular.
I am SURE the C7 will remain more expensive for the next 10-20 years...but when the 6s and 7s become "classic" cars, I believe the c6 will be more desired.
Obviously this may be biased since the C6 has been my "dream car" for a while (barring a GTS viper but those things are a PITA to maintain/buy parts for) - and the C7 is so starkly different from the c5/c6 styling.
And dont get me wrong, I think the C7's look sexy and i would prefer to have their interior as well.

I do like the C7 almost as much as my C6, not quite though. I will never become bored or tired of looking at my black C6. The price for a C7 is way too much for me. My take is on the price of admission into the Corvette family for about the third of the price of a new C7 with the ability to mod as I see fit while having a sports car that turns heads, runs awesome, and makes me smile all the time I drive it is priceless. I just love all Corvettes. Go Chevy...
