C6 vs C7
Well the C7s have been out since 2014. They look pretty good and have more horse power and that's good. Like all models there have been improvements. And normally the new model looks better right away or they grow on you. I like the C7s but I still like the looks of the C6 better. What do you think?

I personally don't think the C7 looks good at all, i think the C6 is the best a corvette has ever looked with the wide body... just my own personal opinion

I'm sure someone is going to bludgeon you with the "this has been discussed before." "use the search function."
all that, but, anyway, to contribute to your post.
I like and don't like the c7. Sometimes it looks too elongated, and station-wagony, and sometimes it looks like a damn airplane on the road, and that's awesome.
I've seen stock vs stock videos on youtube, auto vs auto, and the c7 seems to be a tad quicker off the line, but ultimately ends up losing to the ls3. Of course this isn't the z06 c7, and there's always the "driver mod" but, still.
There's things I like, the front half of the car is amazing. Though, I could do without the led bulbs all over the damn place in the headlights, but oh well, that's the new thing. But, the edges make the car look really aggressive, and again, plane like.
the back end is ugly as hell. Sometimes, like I said, you look at it at the right angle, and it looks like a wagon, see this pic -> http://cdn3.3dtuning.com/info/Chevro.../factory/4.jpg
looks chunky, but then you see this pic -> https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped..._Show_7853.JPG
and it looks streamlined, and sleek...
It's weird. The tail lights kill me, but I'm sure when I was 15 and the C6 first debuted, there was C5 guys saying "wth is Chevy thinking getting rid of the flip up headlights, that's iconic Corvette."
I see Corvette, I think of round tail lights.
Idk... I like it, and I don't. I've driven one, and my legs felt a tad cramped, but I didn't mind, it reminded me of the c5 on the inside in terms of crampedness, the c6 to me is more roomy.
Anyway, it's apples and oranges at this point. You like, what you like... I know I'm on a Corvette forum, but I'm a Viper guy... but there's things stopping me from owning one, that I'd rather not share, don't feel like getting shunned, even though, I might get shunned admitting my dream car is a viper.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
I like the looks of both cars just fine! At first I didn't like the C7 at all but it has grown on me so much that I'm sure that one will be in the garage at some point.

Boredom had a lot to do with it as well. After almost 4 years was tired at looking at the same colored car.

Very original thread, brilliant... and for the record C7 all day ... Interior and exterior. Don't miss my C6 one bit.

I believe it was Car and Driver where the long term review on their C7 had a number of mechanical failures including 2 motors. Realize they must run the heck out of these.
If my car budget was better the new C7 GS would certainly be one top of my list.

The C3 and the C6 have always been my favorite body styles. The C7's look cool, I guess... but they just don't do anything for me. The C7 body has too many sharp angles. When I finally decided to pull the trigger on getting my first Vette last month, the thought of owning a C7 never crossed my mind. It was always going to be a C3 or C6, and since I use it as a DD the C6 just made more sense to me.
Ignore the fools who nag about the search function. While it's smart to use to see if someone may have had the same problem as you recently, if everyone here just searched for stuff from years ago then this place would be a graveyard. Sure, you could have searched for this topic and brought an old one from the grave, but does it really matter? There are new people joining all the time, and it is always good to get fresh perspective.
Then again, what do I know? I've only been a member of the forum for a few weeks. Maybe the old-timers repeat themselves enough on a daily basis that doing it a few more times here causes them heartburn.

No doubt the C-7 is a great car and with the ZR-1 comming out soon it will be even better. Myself, I'm waiting on the C-8 and see what that brings. If the C-8 doesn't knock my socks off then I' going to keep the C-6 and pickup a C-2 convertible.

Why? I like all generations of Corvettes and have owned almost all of them. I post in all sections. These threads are always very stupid. Not just blaming you. When the C8 comes out there will be a bunch of dumb threads like this in the C7 forum.
It just always comes off as people trying to convince each other that they don't want the latest model. It's lame.

Always wanting the latest model, because it's the latest model, is stupid.

Wanting the latest because it's faster or more appealing can't be helped sometimes. Parting with the cash is another issue for most. I didn't just buy my car because it looks great, I wanna haul ****! If the brakes, suspension and power are all improved, that's a big draw.

Melting Slicks
I had a chance to have a C7 (base model) as a loaner when I had my 2013 GS in for service. As far as looks I preferred the wide body of my GS versus the narrow body of the base C7. Driving it was a slightly different story. I will admit the handling on the C7 was better but not enough to make me want to buy it. I found the 7 speed manual a little tricky. Gear shift too close maybe? I couple of times I found myself shifting it to the wrong gear. Like I was going for 3rd but ended up in 5th by accident. I am sure with time I would have gotten used to it. The dash, there was just too much going on. All the colors of the instrument panel was distracting. I did like the seats, I fit really well in them.
I did have a chance to see the C7 GS a couple of months back. Looks nice. Didn’t drive it but if I were to move to a C7 it would be the GS model. Base C7 doesn’t do it for me and I think the Z06 has got too much power (I know, strange to say but I am a street guy not a track guy)

I understand that, but thinking it's lame that others don't feel the same way is silly. Personally, I'm all about the looks. Yes, I want more power, braking, etc... but I'd rather buy the body I want and make upgrades to those things than have a body I don't find appealing that goes fast.

Burning Brakes
My 2 cents before this thread gets locked. I love both cars, before I bought my GS last year I almost bought a 2015 Stingray. I love the interior of the car and the seats. But I liked the wide body of the C6 better, and when I was about to pulled he trigger on the C7 a very low mileage C6 3LT came to the market in my area.
Now, if I had known about the C7 GS coming out later in the year, I probably would've waited. I'm still happy with my purchase, and I still have a smile every time I get into the car.
