There is a recall, speak to your Chevrolet dealer. They will take care of it free of charge. The connector comes loose under the passenger seat. They usually just solder the wiring together. You can also take a zip tie and put it on there

Maybe Air Bag Sensor
You may also have a bad air bag sensor. I had the under seat problem and a bad sensor. I had a guy with a tester locate the bad sensor and I replaced it. $135. Good luck.

I've had the air bag light go on and off may a time. Finally brought it to my dealer, they removed the connector and soldered the wires. No problems since.

I see that you have a 2006. The recall is only good for ten years, according to the letter I got, so run, don't walk to the dealer to have the recall done.
eta: I forgot it's 2017, so most likely your car no longer qualifies for the recall, which is SHAMEFUL, GM! It's a safety issue, I can't believe they won't cover the entire C6 generation.

If the dealer wants to charge you and you think it is too much try the tie wrap solution if that does not work for you then you can open the connector and solder the wires one by one. Easy enough if you are handy.
