This campaign is not a recall but a "Special Coverage." See my earlier post about signing-up at mychevrolet.com and then checking the "warranty tracker" for your vehicle.

Are the people getting the letters the original owners or is GM actually tracking down all owners?
The unfortunate thing is it probably does not apply to me in another country, this does worry me, but no signs of it yet. I would be happy if it covered the parts and I did the job myself.

owner so it would appear that they are tracking secondary
owners

Filled out the reimbursement form, hoping to get a refund since I did this repair at an independent shop last year for a total of $1854.

Yeah, I just got my letter for my '09 (I'm the second owner) a couple of days ago and began wondering the same thing. How do you find out what the "in service" date of your car is?

Referring to my earlier two posts, sign up on mychevrolet.com to answer all of these questions. Under warranty tracker you will see the expiration date of the bumper-to-bumper warranty. Simply subtract three years from that date to determine the in-service date.

I just went to mychevrolet.com and it showed that the bumper to bumper expiration date was 8/18/2012 and the expiration mileage was 36,021. I guess that means that the in-service date is 8/18/2009. I bought the car from a Chevy dealer in 2015 with 25,952 miles on it. I'm confused. What is the expiration mileage that Chevy shows related to? Also, they show a special coverage 15643 warranty that goes out to 120,021 miles or 8/18/2019, which ever comes first. What is that about? Drive train?

^ 36021 is the 36k bumper to bumper + miles on the odometer at delivery.
The special policy you listed is for the airbag light.

Got my letter today for my 07. I do have a fuel odor, and I also have the issue with the gas gauge not working (I believe it was the fuel sending unit?), does anyone know if I can swing this to get my gas gauge fixed as well? It really sucks having to use a trip odometer as a gas gauge.

I received this letter about 2 weeks ago, for my '09. Took it to the dealer, last week and they found traces of gas leaking. They had to order the parts and took 4 days for them to complete the job. I'm not complaining about the time it took to fix. I'm just glad they fixed it and that GM covered the expense.......

I haven't received this letter yet, likely because I'm the fourth owner and just purchased the car a month ago. But I just created a post asking about this same thing earlier today and was directed to this thread. I filled up my gas tank on my 2007 Z06 yesterday and then drove 3 miles home and parked the car. A few hours later I noticed a gasoline smell coming from the garage but didn't notice any leaks. I posted it on Corvette Forum and was directed here.
What is the process of getting this fixed? Do I just call my local Chevy dealership and give them the service bulletin number and my VIN and they will fix it for me?
Is there any danger in driving the car occasionally with this gasoline odor coming from it?

Also - any danger to driving the car around town until this gets fixed? I mean is this something that the car should absolutely be parked until fixed or what?
