Got my letter for my 07. I have exceeded the milage limitations. But had mine replaced under the powertrain warranty already. Hope this one holds up.....so far so good.

"Special Coverage"......BS
Received my letter earlier this week dated January 2017. My 07 was originally registered in December 06 so it looks like I am just outside the special warranty period. What I find offensive is that the bulletin (GM Bulletin 15682) was released this past summer covering the 2007-2013 Corvette as well as the Cadillac XLR. Why am I just now getting the letter....seems it was conveniently sent out after the "special warranty" period expired. Boy is it special....

[QUOTE=Bob Paris;1594131154]What are you complaining about? GM covered your car for ten years. Regardless of when the letter went out had no bearing on the period of coverage. Had your car exhibited the covered symptoms at any time during that period [including between last summer and the 10th anniversary of its purchase], and you had paid to have the repair made, you would have been able to claim reimbursement.[/QUOTE
i purchase the car used approximately 3 years ago and immediately noticed the problem. Took it to the dealer and of course the only thing I could do would be to have it fixed and pay for it out of pocket, no warranty. I decided to just enjoy the car and make sure I didn't park it with more than half tank of gas in it. It wasn't covered at the time and now I find this out. GM did not cover my car for ten years.

^ If you have a good relationship with said dealer, the service manager can go to bat for you and probably get it covered since you just missed by a couple months. If you're generally a dick, well you already know what you get.

Well, I don't think I'm a dick. The service manager is going to do what he can. Fingers are crossed. Bottom line it is what it is.

The letter included a form [for someone who paid to have the work done within the ten-year period] to claim a refund. Your car was retroactively covered for ten years so if you had had the work done, you could claim the refund. Sometimes you have to spend money in order to ultimately be reimbursed.

just got my letter today 2/21/17 for my 2013 GS . I occasionally get the dreaded fuel smell mainly after filling the tank . I haven't noticed any fuel drips on the left side of the tank but I'll be looking for sure !

I received my letter today, but with an '07 which was first placed into service on 9/9/06, I'm out of luck. On the upside, I haven't noticed any fuel smell except one day on start-up (very faint smell) after the car had sat for a little over a week.

GM DID cover your car for 10 years, if you would have had it repaired & paid for it out of pocket, GM will reimburse you providing you have documentation to prove it

Got my letter yesterday for my 07'. I'm under the mileage, but, I purchased my Vette New on May 28, 2007. I've had no fuel problems with it, at all. Hopefully I won't. Otherwise, I'll be paying for the repair out of pocket.

John, you're still covered until 10 years from the in-service-date which would be May 28, 2017, so hopefully if the symptoms do develop, it will be before that date.

I am a first time Vette owner and just picked up my 2009 C6 last week. Since I am now the second owner of the car, will this be covered?
Excuse my ignorance on the topic.

Weird, my buddy and I both have 2007 coupes - the same year and model. He got a recall letter in the mail but I checked my 2007 coupe VIN at the GM Recall Center and it says I have nothing? How does that work?
