iPhone5 question
I know this might sound stupid ... 2 years ago I plugged my iPhone5s into the usb port on my LT3 '13 GS to play music. Voice came over the radio saying"this is an unsupported device' then the entire radio sound system shut down. I drove along w/ no radio, cd, nothing & then parked. It evidently reset when I restarted the car. Never plugged phone ino usb again. So. Does anyone plug in their iPhone5 for music? I'd like to listen to pandora.

Mine (5S) is plugged in right now .... I use the 30 pin cable with a real Apple lightning adapter not a knock off.....
I have to see if it works with a regular lightning cable ....
It does not like my Galaxy Note 5 .....
The usb supports all the way back to my 3 gen 30 gig IPOD

I just use a thumb drive in the USB, and scroll through the songs on the radio. There's a lot of music on it so at times it's a pain to find certain groups / songs.
Is it much easier to navigate the songs using an older iPhone? Does it keep the phone charged while plugged into the USB?

^ This ... don't have an iPhone, but have Nanos for each of my vehicles and when I tried to use an aftermarket cable, the only one that worked was the one I connected to the Kenwood I have in the Corvette; the one's in my Camaro and wife's CUV didn't. Once I swapped the cables over to an 'authentic' charging cables, they worked fine. Don't ask me why the one in the Vette worked, have no clue, but don't question it.

Thanks everyone. I'll just try iPhone5 one more time in the vette. 1st time, I used factory cable, plugged into usb in console. I'll also try a very old ipod in the vette, but that won't get me pandora radio.

I do find it easier to use the IPOD since all my music, playlists and HD tracks are already on my IPOD CLASSIC and my IPHONES. I have all my playlists setup already and if I want to make a new one its a 5 minute task.
I also feel that the interface on the Navigation unit works well with the IPOD and IPHONE
I used the stick and I had to rebuild all the folders etc ... double the work for something I already had done

My Corvette is to old but all my new GMC vehicles certainly do stream pandora and anything else through the radio by selecting the media button.

I never tried because I have so much music on my IPOD Classic 30 gig and IPHONE and I also have 3 daughters and a wife who do their best to chew threw all my cell phone data but I don't see why it would not send Pandora to the radio thru the USB port ......
I was answering jbc1995fb'S question above about if I found using the IPOD easier than the stick ....

yep .... I am sure they do and as you stated the C6 Corvette has some old technology as it was using designs from back in 2003
Bluetooth what ?????, but the question was can you stream music from the Nav radio and the answer was no because the Bluetooth is in the VCM module not the radio
There are some hacks that can be done but even with them it is not stereo
I think one of the best interfaces is the one on my company car which is a 2015 Ford Tauris SEL with the 2nd Generation Microsoft SYNC... the voice recognition in my car is second to none .....
