Default 2013 427 Collectors Edition vs. Z06?

So given the two, which is preferred? Looking for my next ride.

Thanks!

Do you want a rag top or a coupe?
Cruiser or racer?

Good questions... prefer rag top and cruiser so I know that means 427, but are there any other differences to consider. Prices are similar.

frame material different between the 2 models, based on coupe compared to convertible....

427 Convertible was limited run special model with 2552 total units produced.........

Both have the same engine, so basically comes down to...do you want a coupe or convertible? My wife wont ride in a vert, messes up her hair, so easy choice for me, but the, she dont care for the Z either.

427 vert will be the most collectible C6 IMO.

There hasn't been a C6 made that's going to be of any value in our life time!

This. I think the 427 is the only one with a good chance if being a collector item. Especially if it's the last 427.

VIN won't matter as much a rarity of color combination......

less volumes usually means more $$$$$$

I think he meant the last of the 427 in general, not the very last one in production. I happen to agree that it'll be the collectible C6, and that's why I bought one...however, I'm putting mine up for sale this week as I need the money to buy my dad a home, which is more important right now.

To me, it's a no brainer if you like convertibles. They've added tons of carbon fiber to lighten it up, and I think it's a plus to not have the alum. chassis as we don't know how it'll hold up over time. I've been told the local Michelin guys here have already invented tire compounds that can bend the Zr1/z06 frame...no they don't release them to the public, they backed off the stickiness for their production tires. But as chassis' get more stiff, they'll likely to get released.

The Z06 has it's place right now as a track car and will make it a legend, but few people race cars when they get old, so the nostalgia will go to the rare convertible.

I would get the 427 even if I thight it would have less value later (which I do not). To me it has more of a cool factor and it is rare.
