What do you use to hold your Radar Detector?
Ive never been a big fan of the suction cup method and after some reading ive seen that the "BlendMount" rear view mirror mounts have rave reviews, but good lord they are expensive for a radar mount. ($130)
I was curious what everyone used or if they can tell me that the Blend mounts are really worth the money.
By the way. I use a Escort 360.
Thanks!

I use a Blendmount attached to the rear view mirror. You can also "tap" into the backside of the mirror's connector for power with their wiretap. Sits up there nicely and works like a champ. Spendy for sure, but they are worth it. I also have one in my DD truck, that's how much I like them.
Note: I am not affiliated with them in any way and the image is not mine.

Blendmount user here as well, in the Corvette and the Silverado, along with the mirror tap. I got tired of coming out to the car/truck and seeing the radar detector hanging by the wire because the suction cups let loose.

invisa mount, attaches to the pass side visor clip screw keep the unit tucked up high out of the way{not hanging down below the mirror} and highest in the car hense more "detection distance"

Well, if you're spending $600+ for a detector, $130 for the best mount you can buy isn't that much. Absolutely worth the money. People think it came that way..

I used one of the generic mirror mounts to do mine, but it took quite a bit of modification and I'm not sure it's something most people would want to do. The nice thing is it only cost about $30 and an hour or so of time.
There is some extra work behind it, but the end result looks great and saves a hundred bucks or so.
I did have to completely disassemble the rear view mirror to gain access to the back part of the casing. I'd also strongly advise using some type of foam rubber as a dampener at each joint or your rear view mirror will shake with the weight of the detector on big bumps. I used tool box liner from Harbor Freight.
As you can see in the fourth picture there is no room on the neck of the mirror to fit the part that clamps. The bracket won't travel up there. So I took the arched part of the clamp off, drilled matching holes in the back of my rear view mirror, then bolted the bracket to the mirror inside.

I used a permanent mount that I bought for less than $10 on Ebay. Mounted it to the left of the mirror where it's easy to see/reach, and if I put the visor down it's hidden from anyone looking in from the driver's side window.

If you are crafty, this DIY mount using a stainless steel ruler has worked well for me for many years:

Being so tight up to the roof, I was worried the GPS would not work when I went from an 8500 to a 9500 but it works fine.

I've got a blend mount and while it's well made it's not really worth $130 strictly based on the materials and machining involved. However, they don't seem to have any competition so if that's what the market will bear, it's worth it.

The last time I used a radar detector was back in 1990 when I got my first and only speeding ticket in S. Jersey.
Threw it out after that and never regretted it.

I use the fancy suction cup mount that came with my Escort, not talking about the cheap little double clear suction cup mount, and a mirror power tap. I have it mounted high so all I can see under the mirror is the face. It doesn't obstruct my view at all. I thought about the blen mount but wasn't willing to spend the money for that
