Dumb question about brake bleeding..
Swapping out new pads I noticed there was 2 bleed valves. One on each side. Most cars I work with usually just have one brake bleed valve. With 2 valves on each brake calipers do I just bleed only the outer one or both? Sorry newbie question here.

There are two schools of thought on which one to do first. GM says to do the inside first while aftermarket companies like Wilwood say to do the outside first. I prefer doing the outside first. That pulls fresh fluid through the lower portion of the inside half and all the way through the outside half which also may pull any air you have in the brake line into the caliper. Once in the caliper the air may flow up through the inside half or be pulled into the outside half. Once the outside half has been cleared of old fluid and air you only have to do a small bleed of the inside half to clear out any air and to get fresh fluid in the rest of it.

Only if you want to change fluid or for some reason you suspect air in the lines. Other than that, no. I replace all fluid in the master cylinder first using a turkey baster. It greatly reduces the amount of bleeding required.

All our race cars using many different calipers I use inside first all the way around(or on each master with separate masters for front and rear) then outsides all the way around. Been doing the forever. Seems to get the best pedal feel in my opinion. Never had a complaint from a driver and we know how they get. HAHA!!
